I recently submitted everything for Fall 2010 - App, Scores, Transcript. How long does it take Admissions to act on your application?

3-4 weeks in average.

I sent all of my requirments in about 2 weeks ago and it is still showing incomplete but doesn’t say what is outstanding??

Probably it’s just too early; they are still busy with Freshmen class; classes only started two days ago. Once you file is created you will see “to do items”, “in progress to do items” and “completed items”.
My D. sent her aplication in October last year and got the acceptance letter in three weeks.

scrittyh:

You are in good company. I sent all my requirements in two weeks ago and it is showing the same thing. Incomplete, but no reference to what is missing.

I applied about two weeks ago, and was just recently accepted(!). But before I was accepted though, the status was marked as “incomplete” as you describe, with ACT/SAT scores being the only item appearing in the “Completed Items” section, but nothing in either of the other pending sections.

Just keep checking the “Application Status” module. If your application is accepted, a message in bold letters will appear at the bottom of the page saying “This Application Status is Admitted”.

I just chaecked and got admitted too!

Go Tigers!

My daughter just sent her’s off 2 days ago. Her transcripts are still showing tentative in her school’s system. I know she is excited to get the official word!!

We’ve just sent son’s test scores and requested high school transcript to be sent. Haven’t done an app yet. Hopefully will get to it this weekend.

Is there an essay?

Son will be studying biomedical engineering, but loves films and will minor or double major in computers.

Would love to hear anything about the college. We’re from New Orleans, Louisiana.

Good luck to all applying!

We checked on myzou tonight and she was accepted already. That was really quick!!

Congratulations!

So, how do we check our app status and if we’re accepted?

I’ve been waiting for a letter, but do we check online?

Could someone give me detailed instructions on how to do this, as I am a bit computer illiterate?

Thanks so much!

And if we are accepted, what’s next?

Do you apply for housing, apply for scholarships, apply for honors program?

Thanks for any help.

And again, congrats to those accepted!

Hi,

Did you get a letter a week or two after you submitted your application? We got one with her myzou ID and temporary password. Go to https://myzou.missouri.edu and log in. You must then go in and log in and change the password. It needed a uppercase, numbers and lower case.

Then click on self service. I’m not 100% sure it said self service when we first logged on. Click around on the menu on the left hand side till you see something that says student admission or application status.

Click on Application status. The first time we logged in it showed that we were waiting on the transcript and test scores. When we logged on last night I knew right away when next to application status it said accept addmission. She was able to go in and accept the application.

Next we need to pay the admission fee. I’m still confused because she is accepted and its still showing they need her ACT score, but it was on the transcript and she was admitted so I’m assuming they have it. I need to call to verify I don’t need to have one sent directly from ACT. It’s sort of confusing.

I think more information is supposed to come mid-Oct., but I’m not 100% sure what’s next. I did start a spreadsheet to track next steps so we don’t miss anything.

That was the enrollment fee not the application fee.

You can apply to Honor College once you are accepted.
For housing - it’s too early; the registration will be opened in March I believe.
For some scholarships you don’t need to apply at all ( like Mark Twain) – you will be considered automatically, for some others you need to apply in February- March.

I don’t think we got a letter saying they received our app. I guess I should call? Are they good about answer the phone and helping you with that stuff?

I know that sounds like an odd question, but I’ve actually had some colleges tell me to leave a message and they’ll get back to me, or do everything on line. I know there are a lot of budget cuts in state schools, so staff is perhaps cut back. Only thing I have is a receipt for paying my application fee.

Anyway, the reason I’m “freaking out” about this is when I checked the main website, I was given the impression that housing was very scarce. And I’m assuming the faster you’re in, the earlier you can get your name on a housing list. I could be wrong about that, too, though.

In short. Help!

Hi there,

Everyone at Mizzou has been wonderful if I have called or e-mailed. Everyone was great at answering questions on the phone or giving me an extension if it was someone else I needed to talk to.

I’ve also had someone give me their e-mail address when I’ve asked (due to inquiring about a Dual Enrollment class in Pennsylvania - we wanted to make sure the community college and course was transferable). It was easier to e-mail her rather than play phone tag with her.

For housing - Don’t worry, those messages on the main site was for 2009-2010 incoming freshman. Our kids won’t get to pick housing until around March or so, but I did see something somewhere that sometime in October we should get some kind of information about housing. Maybe that is when they will have information on FIG’s, etc for that year.

I would call if you didn’t get a letter after applying. My daughter applied online on 8/31/09, and her letter was dated 9/3/09. She hasn’t received an “official” admitted letter, but she was admitted online and could go in and “accept” online. Her online acceptance went into the system somewhere between Sept 18-24th.

I tried to go in and pay the enrollment fee, but I got blocked due to too many attempts to log in - for some reason, the system has been really tempormental. It wasn’t taking the student number on her letter. It says I have to call so I’ll try doing that this week.

Once you accept in Myzou you can go in and add emergency parent information, get their school e-mail addresses and log into the e-mail account via Outlook Live. Not a lot is in the myzou area yet for them, but I’m imagining as time goes on more info will be available to them.

Thanks for the reply. I will try calling this week.

You mention an enrollment fee. When is this due and how much is it? And is it refundable?

Good to know the staff is responsive.

You will have a priority to sign up for a dorm if you sent your application before the end of November or even December, don’t worry. In some cases l( like Walters scholars) you don’t need to worry at all - you will be assigned to a dorm by your dean. And as I know the university doesn’t have a shortage of dorm rooms. My Ds friend got a dorm in April without any problems.

The enrollment fee is $150.00. I’m not sure when it’s due or if it’s refundable. I can’t really find information on that. I’m thinking the acceptance letter might give more information. She should be getting that soon.

The enrollment fee due is with signing up housing contract in March. It’s refundable up until May 1.
