Applied ED, still not offered an interview

Is that truly so? It wouldn’t make sense for later interviews to correlate to weaker applications, would it? Is this speculation or generally accepted truth?

@astrolakers speculation – if you’re not offered an interview, it’s because there’s no availability of interviewers near you. The school tries to interview every candidate.

@vegangirl123 well some people get interview requests literally days after they turn in their app…there’s no way admission officers already read them

imo later interviews would mean borderline applicants… so do you mean farther down the list as in late interviews mean that those applicants already have some sort of strong decision (admit/defer/reject) already made for them so they don’t really need an interview??

i really don’t think it’s like that, it’s just the availability of alumni interviewers

Not true–simply related to the availability of alumni interviewers in your area

well, we can’t just take what Penn tells us with face value. Is the kid with a 1.5 gpa and 12 ACT score who applied ED (just making a point, i know none of us on this thread even come close to that) really getting an interview too?

Yes, they literally do not look at your stats before offering an interview

They try to interview all applicants. They interviewed over 90% last year. If you do not get the interview, it is because they can not find an interviewer. It will not affect your chance.

lol ppl are still using this thread?
