I want to study either Applied Math or Finance in CWRU and I was just wandering... if CWRU is a good place to go... I mean... how are the professors.... what % of students can get GPA3.8+...

Also, I'm an international applicant...and received absolutely no scholarships/grants.... is it easy for me to get some scholarships/grants for the 2nd semester in the freshman yr?

Applied Math/Finance is a solid combination.

The business school is pretty good here, and it has been rising in rankings over the past few years. Because Case is in Cleveland, a lot of courses have tie ups with banks nearby. You will oftentimes be working on real world projects with banks as parts of your coursework in your upper level classes. Key Bank is headquartered in Cleveland. Fifth Third and PNC bank also have big offices here.

Generally, good grades are much harder in college than in high school. Not only are the professors more demanding, there are MANY more distractions. There will always (well, almost) be someone who gets an A in any given class, but how many really depends on how hard they work and how well they understand what the professor wants from them. For a lot of students, managing the demands of 4 or 5 college classes without mom and dad looking over their shoulder can be quite a challenge.

Merit Aid/Scholarships that come directly from a college are used to get prospective students to ENROLL (matriculate), not to keep them there after they enroll. I say there is no chance anyone gets offered such aid AFTER they enroll. I don’t know the rules about need based aid for international students. Best to contact the Financial Aid office at Case for that.
