yea, and my relatives are actually all in taiwan now... and yea... same reasons as canadia

yeah true, I hope I'll get more holidays in college but that's doubtful

hmm maybe you guys should sign up with pennyo (what a pun) the mandarin acapella group.

hehehe i didn't notice that until my friend pointed it out to me, unfortunately. but it's still punny

yea... i'm strongly considering penn next year as my ed, what's easier to get into penn seas, cornell seas, or columbia seas

lol
COLUMBIA SEAS. by far.

well, that's the perception in my mind. then cornell then penn?

what do you guys think about taking two ap sciences (chem + bio) in one year? i'll also have ap ush, and ap eng lang. too harsh for a junior (since pssa's and sat's are all the same year)? any suggestions on how i should balance everything?

i suppose it's diff at diff schools but at my school all three science aps are extremely hard...i've never heard of anyone doubling up on bio ap and a second ap science...actually i don't even think they allow it...(i'm taking bio ap and physics honors this year) but...i know tons of ppl who double up on chem and phy ap...i guess you have to consider several options based on your personal ability and skill in the diff. subject areas to make your decision...don't kill yourself though...gluck!

i'm trying to seek redemption for one incident in 9th grade when the gc put me in standard bio instead of honors and refused to change it claiming there were no spots let. ahhhhh i need to decide now b/c i need to tell my gc ahead of time to make sure something like that doesn't happen again.

at my school it's pretty easy to do two sciences. i'd go for it if you think you can handle it. chances are everything you've been learning has been preparing you for standardized tests. you might lose some sleep but i don't think it's impossible.

yeah it's pretty easy at my school too. I took 3 AP natural sciences last year.

Canadia - I had 7 APs last year with several ECs, work, mentorship, and varsity sports. It wasn't as bad as it sounds. Go ahead and take both AP chem and AP bio if you like them. For me, as long as the classes were interesting, I had no problem handling them. So don't pick them to look good for your transcript, but pick classes that you would really like to take.

sounds good to me. although, i have to say, i may a lot less smarter than all of you!

are you really manchu? that would be so cool. i've only met han people.

manchu as in manchuria? like where the last ruling dynasty of china originated? i think my grandmother is somehow related to the last emperor (not like through three cousins, an uncle twice removed but supposedly, pretty close)... although when i said this in class, someone told me practically 1/3 of chinese people are related to royalty in some way (this true?)

hehe yeah I'm manchu. After the Qing Dynasty, our culture is almost gone. Rarely anyone know the language now but the clothing like "qi pao" are still pretty popular. I don't think I'm directly related to the royal family line though. But then again, if you trace back hundreds of generations, we're all related.

Do you guys like to watch the Chinese historic TV series? Like Huan Zhu Ge ge, Kang Xi Si Fang..etc?

NO. NO. sorry. i don't like anything soap opera-y.... people say i look like zhao wei from huang zhu ge ge tho. i got it when i visited in china from some1 giving me a foot massage o.0 and i get it from my hairdresser all the time. ermf.. i think it's cuz we both have "big eyes"

and i think a lot of chinese ppl are technically related to a lot of royalty, yea..

no clue what you two are talking about with the shows. i hardly watch tv b/c i don't have time to.

manchu princess! I watch those things all the time. Unfortunately, there are so many with sad endings or the theme of sacrificing for one's country. Huan Zhu Ge Ge was good until the third one, where it was completely destroyed. Not only were the actors ugly, the story was sad, NOT FUNNY. I've never cried so hard in my life.

afaforce, chinese people are weird like that. Clerks in stores in china always ask me if i'm a model when I don't even remotely look like one.

they're pretty pesty. as soon as you walk into the store, they're like: can i help you? and starts to follow you around and suggesting that you should get this and that and that we 'd look good in an outfit or something. crazy people. it was so weird being in the stores where there were english written on the clothing. at this one store, the english was printed reversed but when i pointed this out, the saleslady was like: oh but it's the trend right now and it's in style! i was like, uh... no.

canadia, those are my favorite shirts to purchase. i love the look people get on their faces when they're trying to understand the words! it's so hilarious.
