"hey, i got 45 on my psat, but i was still accepted to SLS"
That is not the norm, so I would not deduce that PSATs do not matter, or that there is no cutoff. What are your other credentials?

"if you apply and get accepted are you obligated to go?"
No.

pinklady- I personally think you have a GREAT shot at going to SLS. That being said, I really have no experience to draw from except my own.
I applied right after their technical difficulties on Dec 15 (around the 17th) and heard back the 22nd.

I am attending session 2 June 6-12th. Anyone else going during that time?

My son will hopefully be at that session as well. We were waiting to hear about USAFA Summer Seminar first, so just mailed in all his forms yesterday. Now we'll wait and hear if they still have slots left for that session. If you'd like to talk to him, you can PM me and I'll give you his screenname or he can PM you!

I should hopefully be going to session 2 as well. As with marciemi I was waiting on USAFA to try to figure out how to go to them. I mailed in my forms a few days ago, so hopefully there will be slots still available although my friend from school just recieved his acceptence letter today which means there are still slots available. For which session I dont know.

I also had many leadership positions, clubs and a very high GPA and good test scores, but 3 weeks after I applied I did not get in. I know it's not because I am not qualified, they don't take as much people and I know that SLS is alot more competitive. I got accepted to the Air Force Academy Summer Seminar though, so I am happy.
