If you are planning to major in Biology, Cellular BIO or Microbiology is it better to apply to CAS or CALS? Any compelling reason for one or the other for an OOS ? Can you apply to both?

I'm still in high school, but still, here's what I know. You can apply to both, but one is an alternative. It was also recommended on Cornell's website somewhere that in choosing which college to apply to with a biology major, it's better to see what college satisfies your other interests, since both have bio majors. Do you like the courses offered at CALS more than the ones at CAS, or the other way around?

CALS has more science-based general requirements.
CAS is more of a liberal arts education. If you want to be forced to take foreign language, for example, choose CAS. Otherwise, CALS.

same problem....i chose CAS because...well, i am also interested in the world OUTSIDE of biology (e-gahd!)

it's a personal choice, but i believe that you may take ANY course offered at Cornell University anyways, so you souldn't be limited...if my memory serves me well

but if you graduate from CAS, you get a BA not a BS

does that make a huge difference?
