Apply to UCLA with non-impacted major better chances than busEcon?

i plan to apply to ucla, I wonder if i get better chances if i apply for a major in the not as selective as other majors (business econ/econ/pysch,english) but as long i get admitted can i just do a double major there or actually switched my major?

My intended major is Business Economics/Economics and my not as seletive might be some cultures studies.

anyone know? b/c i will only be having 3.1/3.2 gpa and i took a look at the stats for busecon major it's like 3.8 >.< as for non-selctive ones they usually around 3.0-3.3

I've heard that it's really hard to switch majors once you get in...

...but that's just what I've heard.

According to some CCC'ers its extremely easy to change majors...in the department you're in.

The problem with that is that both Econ / Busecon at UCLA are almost identically impacted.

Switching majors between two different departments is impossible (from what people here have been saying).

but i can always do a double once i'm accepted right? even though im not too sure about double majors.

btw thanks for teh replies

I am applying for transfer to UCLA with a non-impacted major (Foreign language) also. My plan is to pick up a business minor if I can though. That might work for you.

^ yeah i was trying somethig like that but instead i want a double major with econ, if i do get accepted to my non-impacted major (asian languages/cultures/internation relations or japanese)

you won't be able to double major in econ, it says on the website that you have to be admitted to this major.
