Applying after Fall 2009; how important are Winter/Spring 2010 grades?

Just some personal info:
- Wanna transfer to UCLA Biz Econ
- Will have completed IGETC
- Will also hopefully be TAP certified

So I'm about to finish my first year at community college. I want to transfer after 2 years, so I'm applying as a UC transfer after Fall 2009. However, I was wondering how important my Winter/Spring grades will be.

I was counting on my future Winter/Spring 2010 grades to raise my GPA a little more, but since we have to apply at the end of Fall... do they factor in those grades in admissions? I'm just worrying because ideally, I'll have a ~3.6 GPA when I apply.

spring grades aren’t factored into admissions at all.
necessary to maintain a 3.0 to transfer though…

winter grades… since most winter sessions end after january , one of the counselors will email you asking for winter grades.

I think a simple “I received the letter grade of “X” in “Y course”” will suffice.

but don’t count on winter grades to raise your gpa. That is unless you are gonna try to petition for a GANG of winter courses.

Also, some CCs might cancel winter sessions to save money. Winter session might not even happen for some/most schools…

Your 3.6 gpa is a bit too low for BizEcon which is a very impacted major, as the average admitted gpa is 3.86 this year.
And getting tap certified definitely helps you and you can also apply for an alternative major.

Winter and Spring grades are not really taken into consideration. UCs did say that you can email them your winter grades if you think it will boost your chances. But imo, I don’t think they really look at it.
