Applying as a Freshman/Sophomore-Level transfer

Hello, I've recently graduated from high school and I plan on attending my local community college for summer & fall term since I have plans of hopefully going to a university during spring term of 2012.

My plans so far are to take the required 12 credits (plus more!) and to improve my SAT scores (math needs major improvement). Do you guys suggest I do anything else to up my chances of being accepted?

(P.S, I know that staying and getting my AA will assure my chances but I'm hoping not to go this route)

Yea…make sure you don’t bomb those classes you’re taking at the cc. Other than that, and assuming you don’t go off and commit a crime, there’s really nothing else you can do to help your chances.

FSU takes few students with less than 60 credits or without an AA. They used to not even take applications for students with less than 30 completed by the time of transfer. I do not know what admissions is doing currently. It will be difficult to transfer with less than 30 credits. For less than 60, you must meet freshman requirements AND transfer requirements, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on all college courses, declare a major, and meet MAP requirements for the major.

Good luck and work hard. But call admissions so you have a realistic idea of when you can transfer.

thank you guys! and i’ll be making a call to admissions asap (:

I’ve made the calls and they’ve said i’ll only need 12 credits to transfer and I’ll be getting 4 during summer term but I’m not sure if the one credit coarse will transfer since its a required class at my CC. but for fall i’m planning to take 3 courses, any suggestions?

I will suggest you take a full load of 15 hours for fall for serious consideration.

I am (: I just have to make sure that all of these credits will transfer w/o any issues
