Applying ED 2 but TERRIBLE SAT SCORES!! Should I send it or not??

Hi, I am applying ED 2 to NYU Gallatin!
It’s my absolute DREAM SCHOOL but currently i have an 1800 on my SAT, so I don’t know if i should send it in or not.
I am currently in the IB and have an average predicted grade, but after Jan 15th my scores are going to be re-evaluated and my school will send my universities and updated predicted grade- which I expect will have a boost of 6 points (due to circumstances I was in due to last time I took my exams in November).
I am hoping that will make a difference in my decision process.
But currently I am in a dilemma about whether I should send my SATs in case it would hamper my chances of getting in or not.
Please reply ASAP as I will have to make a decision and rush report my scores over the next 24 hours!!!

Sincerely,

A panicking high school senior

First of all, you don’t need to rush deliver your scores.

Secondly, an 1800 isn’t totally favorable but honestly your application would be worse without it. Just send it; it’s not that big of a deal.

@nyucorgi are you sure?? because since nyu takes the IB OR the SAT, i thought i’d just stay safe and only send IB. But my IB scores aren’t phenomenal either, so you think that my SAT wouldn’t hurt?

I personally would not send an 1800. If your IB scores are stronger, I’d only apply with those. Good luck!

an 1800 is amazing !!! dont let society put yu down

^I second this post.

lol i sent both IB and SAT (sent SAT last night, hope it reaches soon??)
idk i didn’t want to live with the regret that ‘oh i didn’t get in because i didn’t send my SAT- maybe i would’ve had a chance then??’

but now if i don’t get in i’ll be like ‘DAMMIT I KNEW IT WAS THE 1800 THAT SCREWED ME OVER’
