Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

@lobzz. Yeah I did not turn in the non custodial css profile. When i went to do it, it didnt show cornell as a college that required it. Now its already saved and done and i cant find a way to edit the recipients.

Any advice? It sent to a few of my schools (collegeboard picked them for me as it said they were the schools that required the non custodial) but not cornell and idk how to change it.

yay. My application is forwarded to admissions staff for review

@weirdon: it just got forwarded for review?

Yes it’s just updated.

Guys, just so you know, my selfservice page still says “Forward for review.” So I don’t think there will be an update or anything.

Also, I emailed CALS about the typo and not only did they resend me my acceptance email with ‘Fall 2010’ on it, but one of the admissions officers emailed me saying that it was indeed a typo and she was so sorry for the error. Lol, they must be so embarrassed/getting flustered inquiries about it from whomever they sent those emails to.

@Castiel - I would call the Cornell FinAid office and talk to someone who can tell you what to do. Most likely they will tell you to contact Collegeboard and ask them to send a copy of your non-custodial to Cornell. But definitely give them a call like, right now. They’re really great on the phone, too.

@cheeky: are you entering as a sophmore or junior?

@weirdon: okay so hopefullly all is well

@brndname - I’m entering as a sophomore.

Yes, March 15th was the dadline, but I think I read somewhere that everything for financial aid should be turned in before May 1st.

@cheeky: are you entering as a sophmore or junior?

@weirdon: okay so hopefullly all is well

Okay, my phone is acting up so dnt bother with the repeat message.

Oh wow, I thought that list of the schools names were of people who already got accepted. haha I joined in to this thread pretty late.

I got my letter of acceptance yesterday in the mail! And then I got an email with an attachment telling me what credits Ill have going into CALS.

So Cheeky and I are the only lucky 2 who have gotten their letters so far? Cheeky I’m a rowing nut too!! Haha maybe Cornell just loves us rowers :p

I guess you guys will want some stats:

I applied ED last year, was deferred, then waitlisted, and finally rejected. (Not a very pleasant experience waiting all those months and getting disappointed so many times :/) BUT, they sent me this special “Transfer Option” specifically for Biology. I had minimal paperwork, and apparently I had a better chance of getting accepted.

Gender: Male
High School: good, huge public school in NY (Arlington hs if you’re interested)

High school GPA: I had a weighted GPA of 99.37 in High School (haha before you think this is good, I should let you know that I was ranked 52/800 and our valedictorian’s weighted GPA was 109.3)

High School APs:
CALC AB 5
CALC BC 5
STAT 4
ENG LIT 3 or 4
ENG LAN 3 or 4 I get those APs mixed up
BIO 5
USH 4
COMP 4
MACRO 4
MICRO 3

High School ECs: Rowing, rowing, rowing, rowing, rowing, newspaper photographer/editor, yearbook photographer/editor, rowing.

Crazy internship my rising junior summer: Working under Dr. Jason Blackard in the University of Cincinnati I performed polymerase chain reactions and the ligation of Hepatitis C virus segments into commercial E. coli plasmids. I also participated in lab processes and techniques such as Gel electrophoresis and cloning. The lab researches Hepatitis C mutation patterns in relation to body location, mutational responses to treatment regiments, and mutation patterns in patients with co-infection with HIV. < sry about the weird phrasing, I grabbed this blurb from my application)

College: Lehigh University
College GPA: 3.32 (Freshman Fall semester,) 3.7 (as of midterm grades this semester, I think this is why I got in. I really worked hard to get my grades up to the 3.5 that CALS wants from Bio majors)
Major: Bilology. Lots of lols.

College ECs: Rowing (surprise!) Yearbook photographer/editor.

Good luck guys!! I hope everyone gets in!!!

Are you guys GT’s or just regular applicants?

I know a GT that hasn’t received an acceptance yet, I wonder if those go out later. She’s an applicant to CALS as well.

And congrats on your acceptances! Hopefully many more from CC!

Isn’t this the case of guaranteed transfer? or not?

I contacted the admissions office and they said that a 5 on the ap biology exam will eliminate the need for biology. So i am good with all of the pre recs! although they are still missing my h.s transcript -__-

Congratulations @Radlinsky :-). I’m feeling good, no rejections yet. I hope this continues.

I can predict that everybody’s going to start checking their mailboxes daily now. LOL

I still haven’t received anything, I will be reloading Yahoo even more religiously now…

I think everybody’s edgy and nervous.

Rad, was your acceptance letter a large one or a thin piece of paper?

Congrats, radlinsky!!!
