Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

Thanks. To be honest, my performance slipped due to the fact that I was always running around printing files and faxing (or Fedexing) them. So, I’m going to wait for the second batch of midterm exams to come by, so that I can do well on them.

The application process is A LOT more time-consuming than I imagined it was- especially if you’re applying for FA.

@Lobzz: I would call them asap. Incomplete applications will not be assessed, decisions will be made by then and will decrease your chances. The latest I was told that I would be allowed to send in my grades was the first week of April, that’s besides the fact that the original deadline is 3/15. But in all serioussness, call then and let them know your situation and ask them, otherwise, it may be detrimental to your final decision.

@brndname + @Lobzz: you guys are talking about the required midterm reports, not final grades, right?

agreed ^

is it alright if I submitted the common app mid-term report?

Thanks for trying to help, but you were wrong.

From the admissions page FAQ. Updated April 6th:

“What if the mid-year grade report are not available until later this month?”

“Please send it as soon as it is available.”

I receive a snail mail from Cornell. They just let me know there’s something missing on my application.

Yes, but wouldn’t “later this month” be referring to the end of March, seeing that the application was due March 15th??..you are planning on sending it the first week of May, and that’s when decisions arrive, I dnt know 4 sure, but I highly recommend you call.

@wierdon: On your “application status” did it say forwarded for review? Just wondering if they put that on as generic status without actually indicating the application is complete.

@brndname: This was posted on April 6th. I’m going to call them on Monday.

@lobzz: okay, sounds like a plan, rather be safe than sorry! If you give it all you have and don’t get in than you have to have no regrets. Don’t let the mid term report be that document that you look back on and blame for sending in late (not assuming that its late or anything though)

I guess you’re right. We’ll see how things go down…

i am not sure but they may need the midterm reports before they can review your application.

sending midterm grades in late may cause the admissions com. to put your application aside until it comes in. granted, i think admissions com. can admit you w/out them but i am not sure if they do this.

since they are reviewing applications and mailing decisions, i would email or call them. they make decisions up until May so i think you technically have time, but someone else whose application is “complete” may hold an advantage over you.

if they know you are unable to send the grades in b/c of your classes’ timeline, then they may review your application and no longer consider your application incomplete.

i am not sure if this is right, just what i would assume.

ironicallyunsure prob has good feedback on this issue…

Yeah. Ironic thinks it’s fine. I’m still going to call, though.

hehe see what i know, sorry to put false info out there!

My midterm report wasn’t ready until this week.
I got an email earlier this week saying that if the missing material doesn’t arrive by the 21st they’ll withdraw my app.

^ Are you serious???

bv123: yea thats the same email i received when they said i was still missing some material. april 21st is the latest before they withdraw your app

you’ll get it in on time…no worries.

Good luck again, everyone. In the mean time, I’ll be plotting how to add Greek Mythology to my schedule…mwahaha. <3 Cornell (and being Comm, my requirements are ridiculously lax. Yay.)

Pssst Maclen, why is your username RileyJohn btw? I don’t remember if we discussed this.
