I'm really interested in Hendrick House. Having read most of the topics here, I have a dreadful feeling that it may be too late to apply for private housing. Anyone have any reccomendations or tips?

It's definitely not too late to apply for hendrick house. You can still apply online right now. Here's a link to the website that leads you to the online application. I highly recommend you check out the FAQ link on the website first so that you get a good idea of what hendrick house is like. I think that hendrick isn't a very social or dynamic environment, and it's heavily male dominant, about 80% guys.

But the accomodations are nice, the food is relatively better than most other residence halls, and it's very close to the engineering quad. Plus, I briefly talked to the people who own and run hendrick house, and they seemed really nice and homely.

Oh, and if you want to make sure that you're not wasting your time by applying, then you should definitely just call hendrick house to see if there are still rooms available for next year.

There are rooms on the Eastside (the not as expensive side). But I think the Westside rooms are booked.

Thanks for the replies
Having read the other topics, I've already applied for residence housing and put down Gregory and Peabody as my first two choices. I'm looking for a relatively social environment, any suggestions as to where I should be looking for private housing?

I really only know about Bromley Hall, Illini Towers, and Hendrick House. Out of these three, Bromley has the most social environment, and Illini Towers falls in between Bromley and Hendrick.

Bromely is only social when compared to Illini Towers and Hendrick. Gregory and Peabody are by far much more social environments. The university residence halls in general provide much more social surroundings, while privately owned housing provides much nicer accomodations and convenience.
