Applying for the class of 2018 (College starts fall of 2014)

I hate waiting for decisions! Thus, I will be increasing my work hours and travelling (which doesn’t seem half bad actually)

Got into 4 colleges so far (YAY!) Right now i am waiting for more decisions…

I think we’ve died :'S

Did anyone from your school or yourself get an ivy interview?
A guy at my school got a Princeton one.
is getting an ivy interview means that you have a real shot? They say that they essentially interview every candidate but i’ve seen the past forums and that’s not the case with international students.

@Altolime @pkteen ^

got a Yale call but so did everyone else I think

And we have died because idk why xD Richmond scholars finalists are getting announced on 15th - 18th. Wish me luck :)

@altolime GOOD LUCK!
and I’ve been interviewed for Harvard and Columbia (rejected) till now. Other than these two, Dartmouth is the only ivy I applied to. So fingers crossed for Harvard and Dartmouth now! (not expecting anything though)

Did you get interviewed for Harvard for regular decision?

Yes I did

Do you guys think that perfect transcripts weigh more than SAT? My SAT is 1900,if that helps.

I applied to Duke,Princeton,MIT amongst others.And transcripts are perfect.Major would be engineering and I have phy,chem,biology,maths fmaths at A-levels.Do you think I have a shot?@pkteen

@Altolime
@pkteen

@Ldreams everyone has a shot :slight_smile: no one really knows what is going on in the heads of the admissions folk. We can only speculate and in my opinion, if your school is known for producing great students, the admissions folk will put a lot of emphasis on the grades. Otherwise, the standardized tests would play a bigger role. It all depends upon the situation. And I have come across great tales of other parts of the application sufficing for a lack in one part of the application thus, do not fear too much. Also, I have seen idiots (and I mean IDIOTS) getting into colleges as great as UCL. I have thus begun to believe in the likelihood of everything.

In short, yes you do have a chance but keep an open mind for now. You cannot ‘predict’ admissions for ~5% acceptance rate schools and the acceptance rate is obv much lower for internationals.

Did anyone get a Harvard interview for RA yet?

I never got the Harvard portal xD but then again, I applied a day late, hoping that Harvard would consider the common app problems a hassle for the students and give a day’s allowance :P

I did. @uheaven

what are everyones top 3 choices (considering they get accepted in all 3)? :)

@pkteen What city are you in?
