Applying to College in Junior Year?

Good afternoon! I was reading up on colleges and found a college/university that you are allowed to apply to in your junior year! How does that work? Do you have to show the college that you will be finishing your requirements in senior year or what? Also, if you get accepted, do you just go to the college in the fall of what would be your senior year? What are advantages/disadvantages of doing that? Also, what colleges and programs allow this?

Sorry for the surplus of questions, but I found this out, and couldn’t find much regarding about this.

Thank You in advance!

My DS got the mailer from USC. You start in fall of what would have been your Senior year. Depending how your HS works, you may or may not ever graduate from HS.

All in all, it’s not recommended to apply as a junior to a very selective 4-year university. You’re better off, if it’s possible, to take classes for dual enrollment (also called CIS, PSEO, Running Start) as a HS student.
The exception is a program that’s specifically tailored for juniors, such as USC’s.

I agree with MYOS. It is not recommended to apply as a junior to a very selective university.

It depends on the uni in question. “Early college” as a senior at state U’s is different from going to college a year early. I my last state this was one high school’s’ option vs the schools that offered IB for example. You may not want to be forced into being a transfer in these scenarios if you have rigorous HS options instead.
