With an upward trend? I had a 2.23 the first semester, 3.4 the second, will take 2 summer courses and will take 5 next semester and earn a 4.0 (I know that's a bold assumption, but just bear with me!!!)

I have everything else, I think. I'm involved on-campus at a top 15 school and I am retaking my ACT (31) in hopes of getting a 33+. I'm also doing something meaningful this summer and will be getting great letter(s) of recommendation.

Please be brutally honest with your opinions, I can take it :)

honestly i don't think your gonna get in. Stanford's acceptance rate for transfers is 1.5% so its going to be really tough for you.

You might want to look into applying to some other schools, but don't give up all hope.

not a chance, but hey... you'll have a shot at other good universities

But you never know....things happen that people can never predict. Don't give up hope! You are probably an amazing person...so make sure that shows/showed up in your essay's. :)

Yeah, you never know.. haha those admissions are crazy! Good luck to ya either way!

It's an absolute waste of time in my opinion. Unless you enjoy receiving rejection letters.

I concur with Caillebotte.

I think anyone who applies obviously has qualities that would make them a legitimate candidate. Presuming that, I would say that hopefully you emphasized your strengths and diminished your weaknesses? Idk how much GPA is relevant for transfer students?

Wouldn't it be more likely that they took lesser qualified and more non traditional applicants...

I doubt they're looking for strictly numbers when it comes to the 23 students that get in out of 12039123019230232107392103712093217301293721093712039210397923729.

Or I could be subliminally making myself feel better?

If you were to rank all the factors it would probably come first.

It says on Stanford University website that if you are athletically, or musically talented, that may otherwise sway their decision, so a 2.5 GPA could otherwise be overlooked. Otherwise you are SOL. but realize that they look at the application holistically!!!. So say that you were ill, like with Cancer,AIDS, etc. a life altering illness that may have stalled you academic achievement somthing like GPA could be overlooked.

To be really honest, all our chances are slim to none, so in this pool, I really dont think that you GPA will affect your chances, since they deny most everyone, but 20-40 students!!!!!!

Meh, I'll give it a try, but won't hold my breath. I actually enjoy my current school. I'm only trying to transfer because... well it's Stanford.

Thanks you guys.

I have to say that is a really awkward reason to apply, unless you are having someone pay $75 to wards your application and your professors know you well enough to write a letter of rec. for that reason, to go to a school for the name, but whatever floats yuor boat!!!!!

It floats my boat, actually!!!

Cool, best of luck!!!!:-)
