If im applying at places like UIUC, do i stand a better chance of getting in if i apply undecided and then change my major to bio/ pre-med.
or do i stand a better chance just applying bio/pre-med?

Typically, most schools will not show a decided difference since biology=CAS/CLS, and there isn't any "impacted" major in that college. There's a rumor floating around that declaring a major tends to be better because it shows colleges that you have a clear action plan for the future, however I personally don't subscribe to that. Applying bio/premed will have absolutely no effect on your admissions as opposed to just undecided. The average undergraduate will switch majors quite a few times, so the CAS/CLS has to be accomodating to this very proven fact.

any other opinions?
