Appointment Confirmation

I recieved my offer of appointment to the Naval Academy right around Christmas. I sent back my letter accepting the appointment and committing to the class of 2014 a little over a month ago. I have yet to recieve anything back from the academy confirming my committment or any other kind of notice. I was curious if this meant something bad for me or if I just worry too much.

Congratulations! Great and timely decision to join your Class of 2014! No, it means only that they are busy doing other stuff unrelated to your good choice. And yes, quit worrying and enjoy what’s left of your personal life. Soon you’ll belong to the Navy. ;)

Do your pushups, keep up your grades, keep your nose clean, and date only wholesome, church-going girls (or guys). Oh, and enjoy your mother’s cooking. You’ll be missing her 3 times daily when you reach King Hall.

hahaha thank you again your always helping me whistlepig

Woah now whistle pig, the powers that be haven’t rescinded DADT yet, no need to promote that kind of stuff until word comes down lol

:D My remark was not in anticipation of DADT. Lord help us, but it’s coming, all in the name of “diversity.” And it’s coming to USNA admissions. We’re just watching step 1 …

Rather, I was covering bases for appointed candidates, young men and young ladies alike. Sigmund Freud may want you for his next study? ;)

And what’s the adage of not ass-u-me …ing anything, lest it may transform U and ME?

Two things-

First, if you are concerned your acceptance card was not received, contact your BGO and they can check on their system.
**
NOTE TO ALL APPOINTEES: SEND ALL PAPERWORK RETURNRECEIPTREQUESTED.**

Second-you will recieve your permit to report packet sometime late May-early June. There will be a pile of paperwork to be completed. Once again, make sure you MAKE COPIES of EVERYTHING, and sent it as noted above.
Between now and then, not much goes out!

We didn’t send the acceptance via Return Receipt mail, wish we had now. But…we did send the birth certificate with a stamped, self-addressed envelope. So if that comes back then we will know that admissions received son’s acceptance form.

lol, I like yall whistle pig, you are one of the few on this board that can take a joke.

And it took me about 5 weeks to get my birth certificate back after I sent it in if that is any help to those waiting. Dont forget, there is always the option of calling admissions to see if they have received your acceptance packet yet.

The feeling’s mutual. You bring levity and sanity to a scenario that could use a whole bunch of both. Oh, and let me add TRUTH.

For all, thank you!! :D

I don’t care what they say about you in the 'Dant’s office. You’re an admiral-in-training in my book!

Question tho … Is mombee your mom, maybe?
