Letter of Appointment!!

This forum has proved to be so much help for me throughout the entire application process. Thanks to everyone. It was a long and hard process, but i can proudly say that i have received my official appointment to the United States Naval Academy. I received my letter October 16th, and i cant believe it. I am so happy! I never thought i would hear this early.
Has anyone else received their appointments yet? Good luck to all!

USNA Class of 2014

Did you receive an actual appointment or an LOA (Letter of Assurance) that guarantees you an appointment contingent upon certain items (ie. a nomination)??

Do you already have a nomination because you can’t be granted an appointment without a nomination.

If you did receive a presidential nomination, the CONGRATS on your appointment!!

I did receive a presidential nomination, so i am positive it is a letter of appointment. Thanks everyone. I hope to see many of you there on I-day

If it came in a nice blue folder it is defininitely a letter of appointment. Congrats :)

Congratulations!
I just read on the USNA website that “An unlimited number of presidential nominations are available for children and legally adopted children of career officer and enlisted personnel of the armed forces, active or reserve, including the Coast Guard. One hundred candidates may be appointed with these nominations each year.”
Wow, that means that you have been chosen as one of the 100 candidates (out of all the many who receive a Presidential Nom.) who will be given a USNA appointment with a Presidential Nomination. That is excellent!

Congratulations, I received a verbal LOA a few weeks back and just got my written one today.

Hearing these excited and exciting reports NEVER gets old! Keep 'em coming and congrats to the victors!

Now practice …

GO NAVY! BEAT …(who???)  :D
