That said, you'll get a SECNAV nomination next year automatically, so as long as you make the grade, you're in!

Be careful, though. My NAPS class took it in the shorts. Of the almost 300 M/C's that started with me on August 1, 1986, fewer than 50 graduated with me from USNA on May 29th, 1991. My first NAPS roomate was one of them. We sat next to each other at our graduation.

Yes. We both cried like idiots when the covers went up!

Well hi all again. It's been a while. Best wishes to 2010. We've already had several students this weekend for candidates visit and they are all very eager. It's cold here. Drink hot cocoa and dance.

Congrats fiterace87!! We are waiting for our son's appointment package to come in. Our son got his LOA last week and the BGO said he should receive the paperwork shortly. We're the parents of asward. Congrats and good luck to all 2010 candidates!

2010M&D: Congrats to your son. Does he have a Presidential Nom or has he received him MOC nomination? Either way, an LOA is a pretty awesome piece of mail. It makes nominations much easier to get. Be sure to let us all know when the appointment package arrives in the mail. Again, congrats to your son. You sound very proud.

I just recieved an offer of appointment to the class of 2010 :D :D I am so pumped to be alive right now. See you all on I-Day! GO NAVY!!! BEAT ARMY!!!!

Apan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If your post could talk, it would scream, GO NAVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome job kiddo! Keep up the good work and bubble tape in bulk is the best way to buy it. Weeeeeee!!!!

APan5: Congratulations on your appointment to the "HOTTEST US Service Academy"--four 2006 Rhodes Scholars--more than any other university--three Rhodes Scholars from USNA last year :)--third post-season bowl game Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego, Annapolis, the Sailing Capital of America. You're gonna love it! Start running...

2010mom&dad congrats on Asward! You guys are in for some kind of ride during the next year. Its a wild one too! Better begin that scrapbook now. Its the devil trying to keep up with all the documents and photos. Know you're feeling overwelmed. Its the best isn't it?! And Zaphod couldn't be more correct. When Asward gets there just keep saying "One day at a time". GO NAVY!! ( from a USMMA Mom :D )

Jamzmom,
Thanks for supporting Navy football! Navy will be playing in a post-season bowl game (after defeating USMA on Dec. 3 on CBS TV) on December 22 in San Diego! It will be a major PARTAY since San Diego is such a historic Navy town, great weather, great team(s). I will have a housefull of mids and we can either drive or take the train to San Diego! This might just make up for Plebe Summer...

Usna09 mom - where do you hail from? We are thinking about the bowl game...but don't really know what we're doing and if we did go, we'd wanna hook up with folk....

Yeah baaaaa-by! Wish I could be there! Putting up the Xmas tree the minute the turkey carcass goes in the trash. I've got a gold and blue Navy tree this year! Has to be up for game day. I know some of you don't get that Military channel thing but they've got a week special coming on dedicated to the history of this game. Sweet.
