Appying to Tisch -- does the Tisch school look at everything or just the portfolio?

There seems to be some uncertainty about this, so if anyone could clear it up, that'd be great! Does Tisch looks at everything (portfolio, NYU application, and the "hard" factors [GPA, test scores, et cetera]?) and select those they want to admit? Then they submit these people to NYU at large to be ultimately decided who gets into NYU? Or does Tisch look at everything and accept people without any other admissions office playing a part? OR does Tisch just look at the portfolio and then "NYU" looks at the academic factors?

Any info would be great! Thanks in advance. :)

I believe Tisch looks at both.

I went to the Open House yesterday and this was rbought up.

Tish looks at BOTH.

They have one section do the GPA, EC’s, Test Scores.

Then they have one side look at the portfolio.

These groups look at you SEPARATELY, then come together, accept the common ground people, and fight for kids they disagreed upon.

^hey me too…wasnt that madness when it turned out almost the full auditorium was there for film/tv production- at least, i was surprised.

yeah…it discouraged me a little lol. But it was a great experience none the less
