Overall, I’m pretty happy, but I would like to improve all of them by highschool:)But considering the fact I haven’t taken any of the classes, I think I did well.

First and last time taking it… decided not to retake even though I have scored better in practice tests…

now time for the subject tests :/

First time taking it. The only reason that I took it is because my guidance counselor “recommended” that I do it, and everyone in the district gets one free waiver. Didn’t study for it at all.

@vipevipe. The best way to raise math and science is to practice those sections. Check out every ACT and SAT book from your library and take every math and science review test. Look on line for practice sites and do reviews there, too. Review your geometry. In my experience, my students forget geometry because it is presented as a discrete topic in freshman or sophomore year and all other HS math topics are more related to algebra.
Science on the ACT is heavily dependent on reading scientific material. Check out websites for science news and read articles daily for understanding. BE SURE you know how to interpret all sorts of graphs and charts. Look through USA Today - they present many graphs and charts (often designed to MISLEAD the reader!) Look at the scales on the charts. Make sure you can draw inferences from the data on the charts or graphs.
In general, it is easier to learn how to raise math and science scores than reading, so since you are a good reader you should be able to bring those other areas up with lots of PRACTICE!
Good luck!

Does anyone know if my scores are good? I’m a seventh grader and I took the ACT. Here are my scores…

Overall, I think I did okay, but comments would be appreciated. Please consider the fact that I haven’t taken any highschool classes yet😄because I’m in 7th grade

@sailorkatie Honestly you really don’t need to take high school classes to do well on the ACT. Math is probably the one section that will improve greatest with the high school transition. As for science, just practice will help. Other than that your scores are good.

Thank you very much!

@Maryjay60: Wow, thank you so much!

Your scores are great for a seventh grader! Are you doing the Duke TIP thing? If it works anything like it did when I was in seventh grade, you probably qualified for the summer programs and maybe the state recognition ceremony (depending on which state you are in). Congrats!

I am debating whether to retake. My guidance counselor told me not to, but it was my first time taking it and I really want to get my math score up. I want to major in math, so I want a high math score. I need to work on being faster, I think.

What do you guys think?

LovelyLily, if you are planning on majoring in math and you WANT to retake it for a higher math score you absolutely should. Good luck! By the way, a 12 on your essay is wonderful and rare!

Thank you so much lovelylily28!!! By the way, your score is awesome! Congrats! :)

Oh, and I am doing the Duke Tip program and I’m in Wisconsin. Do you think I can possibly make it to the state recognition or grand ceremony? Thank you so much:)
