***APRIL 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

Nah. I just hope they are generous on Science although they never are you know

The Pedigree passage was a 5 question passage.

i counted them they were all 6 and 7 questions

i don’t remember any 5 question passages for science

I think I did pretty well on English (28?) but Reading, Science, and Math… It seems like the Reading and Science sections became much tougher this year. I’m praying that I get at least a 24 composite so I can get some scholarship money. qq

What? I thought science was easy? I completely failed English and reading tho (reading more). Like english, i managed my time poorly and had to literally sprint through the last 25 questions. Reading, ehhhhhhhhhhhh. Had trouble with the 4th paragraph. Then went to 2nd and lost hope. So I bsed the last two ( I didn’t even read the 3rd one, and barely read the 1st one). Man I wish I maintained hope and pushed through reading because people are saying it is easy. X_X

I thought the science was pretty easy. The quark one was mostly math and variables. I thought the math was pretty good too. I’d just come out of doing trig in pre-calc so I think that helped. Reading and English were good, I can’t remember anything specifically that I got stumped on.

omg… the girl next to me was damn annoying. she kept tapping her pencil on the desk and swinging her desk back and forth… i had to tell her to shut up… and what the frack happened to the science? NONE of it was like in the 5,6,7 question format, they were all 6-7 questions. and is it CONCRETE that the english will forever have the 2 question passage thing ? and i think michelle obama bribed collegeboard for the obesity thing.

im not gonna lie. i got the math and all which was ez pz but there seemed to be a lot more trig than usual.

and for the first time the science was not too bad.

Let’s just admit that everyone has their strengths, haha XD… For example, science was easy for me because I had done particle physics research, loooooolllll

do you get better at reading? I really suck. I had to go back to reread the passage for every question

I want to know how I did so bad

I’ve taken the act in December, I got a 25. I’ve studied a lot for this one.
English- typically my worst section. Wasn’t too bad but there was some tricky questions.
Math- really easy
Reading- I think I did alright. I got frustrated at some points so it was hard to keep focus during the fiction passage.
Science: idk why but it was harder than usual. I messed a really easy question up in the first passage that I should’ve gotten. But the only really hard one was the last passage.

DO SCHOOLS SUPERSCORE THE ACTS???

Yes…

I screwed up on the math. I ran out of time and literally had to guess on the last ten questions. Plus, I wasn’t sure if some of the questions were supposed to be trick questions or if I was just over thinking them. Anyways, I’m kinda embarrassed because I’m in Calculus BC right now.

Some schools superscore and others don’t. For me, Baylor does which helps a ton

They don’t give enough time on the reading. The time was “ok” for the English and Math but ridiculously for the reading section. I probably failed the reading section.

Does anyone know how likely it is that -1 math will be a 36?

I don’t think it is very likely that a -1 will be a 36

maybe a -2 35 but not a -1 36

@swanjoe0 Dang that sucks  I heard a lot of people were saying the math was really hard though, is -1 36 really rare or something?
