Here’s what I thought
English-normal
Math-easy medium
Reading- ridiculously easy
Science- easy medium because I already learned about that last passage’s topic last year
Are we allowed to discuss specific test questions?
@Newdle please let me know if you’d like to start one as well!
Did anyone else feel that some of the beginning questions were hard? Usually 1-40 are incredibly easy but I had trouble on like 10 of them. I also guessed on #2 and a few others especially at the end.
@shemcreek I definitely agree. I took the ACT this morning and two of the science passages were a bit confusing. One of them was about Quarks, and the other was about genetics (Though your son’s hardest passages might be different than mine). I barely finished the Science section, like there was 10 seconds left
Thought English, math, reading was easy. Didn’t really have trouble on English. Math was very fast paced but still very easy. Science had trouble with last section that’s it.
@0br0123 Are you talking about the math section?
We aren’t “allowed”, going by the ACT rules (same deal for the SAT), but there’s really no chance they’re going to find out you did in fact discuss anything, unless you attach your real name to the discussion somehow. When the SAT Google Doc was being discussed, it was highly advised you not be signed in to your Google account while viewing or editing the document, for fear your real name would be attached to the document in case of investigation by SAT officials.
@0br0123
Yeah I thought that was weird. The questions in the beginning were harder than usual
@outlooker he said the same…I just did not want to post anything about the questions due to the restrictions. I’ll have to probe him for more detail after he comes out of his coma…
@0br0123 The quark passage? I found that to be the easiest passage in the Science Section (along with the Pedigree). The soil section was confusing. If you didn’t take Physics for at least a couple of months you definitely would not have understood the quark passage.
@Chrysanthemum14 yeah, I agree. The soil one I found highly confusing. The quark and door passages I thought were easy.
What was different about the Science section? Someone said that the format was different?
Completely bombed the math everything else was fine. I got flustered with the seemingly mixed difficulty of the problems (usually the first are easy). So that simple fact negates this test from being used for anything but super scoring.
Science was in another language…
English - Easy at worst 3 wrong
Math - Easy at worst 2 wrong
Reading - ehhhh at worst 5-6 wrong (the double passage was actually easy)
Science - I bombed this section…
Really pissed about science - On practice tests I was consistently 33+ but when I started science, there were no 5 question passages so I wasted a minute and freaked out before starting - then I basically ran out of time and had to guess on 1-2…
English- a little harder than usual, but I’m not really an english kind of guy.
Math- relatively easy to the other two I’ve taken, 1-2 gave me trouble.
Reading- average, finished with 60 seconds left.
Science- many people saying this was the hardest section, but I honestly don’t think I missed one. Feel very confident in my science score.
As far as curves, what are you guys thinking? I’m thinking that there’s going to be a big science curve, but what about the other sections?
What do you guys think are expected curves?
If I got the following wrong what would you guys estimate my score to be:
English 2-4
Math 0-2
Reading 4-5
Science 5-6
