***APRIL 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

English- Felt really good about it, pretty much what I expected. Hoping for a 30+
Math- Yikes… I knew it was gonna be my weakness from the beginning but it was a lot harder than the majority of the practice tests I’ve taken. Guessed on quite a few. Just hoping my other sections make up for my weakness here.
Reading- Pretty simple. I was still upset about math at the beginning of this section so I took forever to finish the first passage just because I psyched myself out, which caused me to rush a lot of the questions towards the end. I’m really pissed though because I consistently was scoring 34/35 on practice tests for this one but just because of nerves I know at best it became a low 30.
Science- Coming out of the testing center everyone was pissed about this one saying it was impossible but I felt pretty secure in it?? For sure not my best (I was able to get consistent 34/35s in practice tests) but it wasn’t horrible either. Time screwed me over and I was forced to guess on the last few but aside from that I felt good. I think my AP Chemistry background could have helped me on this one though, the passage w the students was simple.

I finished the math in 50 minutes lol, but science was so freaking impossible especially cause there were no more freaking 5-question passages…

Yeah there were only 6 and 7 question passages it threw me off

Was it just me, or was science extremely hard, especially that last passage? I didn’t have time and had to guess on 36-40 :frowning:

@swanjoe0 That looks like a 32 or 33.

Any estimations on what science score would be if I missed 6 or 7? Every other section seemed really easy to me except science because I didn’t have time to take in all the info and answer the questions.

Sorry if this thread has already been started. Interested in who’s testing and what prep you are using.

MODERATOR’S NOTE: No. See the green box at the top of the page.

I’m thinking
English -0
Math -1 a lot of people complaining but if you worked really fast on the easy problems - i think i was on question 40 and was 20 minutes into the test - then you would’ve been fine
Reading -0
Science -2 (yea…)
Anybody else thinking the curves will be different?

Estimations for this score? hoping I did better than 30 (my last score) lol
english- honestly probably 2-3. maybe 4, TOPS
math- 10 or so, maybe a few more?
reading- 0, MAYBE 1
science- YIKES. um 15.probably more…lol :frowning:

Honestly the science section is basically another reading comprehension section except for the most part you just need to know how to interpret the tables and graphs properly. I just get started on the questions right away and search for the answers. I agree with what someone said previously…this time around it required a lot more outside knowledge than usual which is what made the soil section so confusing for me. (I never properly took Earth Science)

English: 3 or 4
Math: 2 or 3
Reading: 0,1, or 2
Science: 4 or 5

I messed up big time

Any guesses on science curve anyone? I couldn’t have been the only one who thought it was hard, specifically that last section…

First off, I hope everyone did well today. And am I the only one who thought a few of the math in the beginning were harder and the ones at the end were easier with basic trig (surprising since its usually starts easy then becomes gradually hard). For my first time, I’m proud I got through the test without being too nervous. I hope I can study real hard and come up with a huge turn around for the June test.

Stupid science always gets me :frowning:

Anyone remember the letters they put for the last 5 on science? I ran out of time so just bubbled in C/H for all of them

ye those were the “quark” questions I was talking about. The one with the circles that had letters s, a ,d ,t.

Here’s a quote from the ACT Web Portal:

“After you test, you can check to see if your scores are available online. Multiple-choice scores from this test date will be first posted online beginning April 28 through June 12, 2015.”

I would be extremely grateful if someone could estimate my score!
