Got a 34.25 or 34 depending on how you look at it. Could have gotten a 35. Kind of disappointed at my math and english going down. I have a 35 superscore. Should I take it again?

Took it for the first time with minimal practice (just familiarizing myself with the structure and format of the exam) and scored a 32C resulting from:
33 English
33 Math
32 Reading
28 Science
Not really sure what happened with science. I got pretty overwhelmed by the sheer length of the section and probably skipped around too much. I’m planning on taking it again so I was wondering if anyone had a good strategy/study plan or knew of any helpful resources that could help me pull that science score out of the gutter? Thanks in advance.
did you guys receive an email from act around the same time your scores were released? my scores aren’t out yet but if that’s the case it can save me a lot of stress and effort
@liveonlife No
@lshaynal I did not get an email, I just looked at the site
My friend told me that he saw on his ACT account that multiple choice scores for people who did not take writing come out this Thursday.
Hey, so I know the next “batch” of scores comes out Friday, so does that mean know scores will come out at all on Wednesday and Thursday? (This is with respect to ACT+writing)
Well, I can’t complain with a one point increase in the composite.
29C
29E
29M
27R
29S
I knew I did not do well on English, but I was thinking at least 30-31, not 29. I’m pretty disappointed with that. Very pleased with math especially considering I guessed on 11 total. Either I had a good letter or there was a nice curve. Once again I’m disappointed with reading even though this is my highest score ever (26 in October and 25 in February). I felt like I only missed 6-7 at the max so I was expecting 29-30ish. I’m pleased with a 29 in science; that’s a four point increase!
I really wanted to break 30+ this time, but I’ve still gone from 27 to 28 and now 29. Maybe from the state test today or June.
@NikkuWadde I think it’s safe to assume no other scores will be released until Friday. Tick tock
Got my scores

Should I retake again ?
When is writing score available ?
^C35. Why?
Go celebrate!
35 is an amazing score!! Do a lot of colleges superstore the ACT? I am finding that most don’t.

Thank you so much I’m obviously looking at the wrong schools
35 is a great score. It got me into UNC, Cornell, and Multiple BS/MD programs. My advice is to keep your score and focus on SAT Subject tests instead plus keep the GPA up while staying active in extracurriculars. You’ll be golden come application season then.
Thanks a lot guys, any other suggestions after I got 35 ?
The list has gotten MUCH longer than when my son applied. (He is finishing up his freshman year at Baylor right now.) I’m pretty confident this list is as least twice as long as when he was applying.
It was something we were pretty in tune to since his SuperScore was 2 points higher than his regular score, up until he took his last test, which he nuked (for him), so it ended up being a moot point.
Daughter will start her applications in the fall (HS junior) and is currently in same boat, with a 2 point variance in SuperScore and regular. She just took this last test, and hopefully she’ll carry on that family tradition and make that point moot as well!
I am a current junior and I got a 34. I want to apply to direct med programs such as UTD PACT and also aim to apply for difficult colleges such as Caltech, MIT, UT EHP/Turing scholars, and other IVY’s. Should I bother going for the 35/36 or will I be fine with a 34?
I am interested in the answer to @eljefe123’s question as a student also with a 34 and looking to MIT in addition to Swarthmore, Haverford, Harvey Mudd, University of Michigan, and Cal Berkeley (applying as an engineering major to all but MIT, where I’d apply as a business major) as some of my favorite options. I know that MIT and CalTech superscore (my super score is a 35), but was also wondering if there is a significant difference between 34-35-36 for admissions purposes.
In addition to what @undecided3494 said, start working on your essays, at least the main ones. Unless the college is known to change the prompts every year, the prompt is unlikely to change. You will be surprised the number of revisions you will be making.
