APs: Psych vs. World vs. Bio vs. Env. vs. Hug Vs. French

I’m allowed to take one external class and one online class after school a year. I really regret not knowing I could do this a earlier, so I could have taken an external course and an after school one as a freshman. Too late now, I guess. For now my plans are:

AP World over the summer - external
Econ after school - almost definitely will not change
AP Bio over summer
AP Psych after school
AP Env over summer
AP French after school
Self-study APHUG at some point and take the exam

I have a few problems to sort out, though. I know AP Env and HUG are supposed to be easy, but I have no idea when to take them. It’ll be a challenge with a ton of hard classes in school and EC’s, so I don’t want to take them over the summer, but I think World would be better in school with a state-approved course. I want to have the more difficult ones on my transcript, but only if I can do well (A’s). I’m more interested in the social sciences (mainly psych) and especially the humanities, but I’m also interested in biomedical engineering (biodegradable packaging material).

Some constraints: AP French can only be done Senior year, after French IV. AP Bio can only be done after I take regular as a sophomore. Econ is a required online course typically taken as a junior, but I submitted a pending request, so I’ll likely get a spot. World is typically taken as a sophomore, but I’m taking Euro instead, so I’d like to take it no later than junior year. I’ll likely take a ton of AP’s as a junior and senior, so I’ll want easier classes then. I’m thinking of applying to some summer programs open to rising juniors and seniors later on, like internships and (free) summer school type things. I’m a female asian and thinking of maybe trying for State AP Scholar, and worried a little about cost. Shooting for YPS (H is for grad work :-), and not as interested in MIT), more realistically Pomona, UC’s or William’s. Princeton will likely be my first choice.

Anyone interested in helping me out? I have until either today or tomorrow.

Which resource are you using to take the online class? I’m interested in this approach as well.
I have taken AP HG, ES, and Psych. What questions do you have about them? How is AP Euro?

Euro isn’t till sophomore year. I’m currently registered on Coursera, and thinking of using edX and MIT OpenCourseWare. I might use Khan Academy for AP Art History if I can get in more classes.

Questions… How hard are they? Time allotments for each per day? If you did it over the summer, how much did you work and study? Any advice on which class to take when? Do you know anything about World and the amount of work involved? For AP Env Sci, what did you learn about in specific? And Human Geography? What skills do you actually learn when you took these classes?

Which classes to you intend to take on Coursera - could you send me the links? How does your school actually take that credit? I’m trying to find a course provider that gives high school credit. Are you taking these classes to boost your GPA, for the AP exams, or both? If you are just doing it for the exams, AP review books are the best.

Honestly, junior year will be terrible and there just isn’t enough time to be taking extra classes unless they are very easy - trust me, I’ve tried. I took them in school, did not take World as I want to take it during this summer. You can read about the course descriptions on the CollegeBoard website. All 3 of these classes contained a lot of material, especially Psych and ES.

I haven’t actually found the courses yet, but I’ve seen them on there, as well as on MIT OCW and edX. The external class will be over the summer and the after school ones will be online.

I rralized that there may be a way to take AP Macro/Micro over the summer instead of Econ, so I will try to get around that, and I’m trying to see if I can request more transferrable credits and courses taken per year (1 external per year, 4 overall, 9 courses per year max.) Do you have any thoughts on how to do that via mail?

I’ve already checkes the descriptions for courses, however I’m not convinced that they’re totally accurate and wanted to ask someone myself.

What’s the advantage of self-studying APHUG?
