APs

hi. too all those who went to a ivy league college i was wondering how many aps you took up to junior year. im going to be a junior this fall and i can't decide whether i should take 2 aps or 3. but then again, does it really make a difference to colleges? (i was worried because some of my friends are taking music theory ap etc. so they are taking about 3-4 aps this year)
thanks~

Basically, colleges like to see you challenge yourself, and that you can handle a rigorous course load. I'd say take as many as you feel comfortable with.

Some AP's (like music theory, 2D/3D art) require natural talent that many people don't have. I could never survive in AP Art for the life of me, but I know people in AP Art that couldn't handle AP Bio. As long as you take advantage of what your school has to offer and design a schedule that fits your strengths, you should do well. My school offers about 9 AP's (including art and music) and by graudation I'll have taken 5 of them, which I feel was enough for me (considering my music and art talent, or lack thereof).

Generally take about what the top students at your school are taking. My school offers a lot of APs, so this is generally 4+ for junior year. But your school may be different.
