APUSH best practice test book

i know AMSCO is very helpful for prepping and is one of the best
so wud getting only AMSCO be fine or shud i get a book with practice tsets in them say....REA or KAPLAN or etc which one wud be the best

i wud really like a 4 or 5 on the exam

I took APUSH last year. From experience, I know I should've started studying sooner, and more intensely. However, I did somehow pull a 4 on the exam. When I first started, I took the diagnostic test in the REA book to see what exactly I was strong on, and what I needed more help with. I started using the REA book for summaries too, and then I realized I preferred the summaries in the AMSCO book better anyway. I stopped using the REA book completely, and just used the questions at the end of the summaries in AMSCO, in addition to doing a few practice tests our teacher gave us (and the one in the back of AMSCO).

I mean, REA seemed like a good book-very detailed, and a few practice tests. However, from just taking notes and reading most of the AMSCO book, I pulled a 4. REA just wasn't my style, though it is detailed and many people like it. I would say, next to AMSCO, it is probably the 2nd best book.

If you are doing fine in your class, I'm sure you'll do fine on the exam. You may just want to get the REA book for cross referencing if you ever don't understand something in the AMSCO book, or if it is unclear to you. If you do decide to get the REA book, I would take the diagnostic at the beginning to see what you need help with. Then decide which summaries you like better-AMSCO or REA- and read them. If you don't have time to read them all-read what you need help on. Then, if time is still left before the exam, take the practice tests in REA.

I hope this was helpful, and good luck in May!

yeah so im just going to get AMSCO online
and then if i have time
i will just go to borders and do the REA practice tests or something
i soooo want a 4 or 5

I used sparknotes study pack last year for World History. It has 3 (i think) practice tests with all of the answer expained. I am gonna use the one for US history this year. However, most of the people on here never really discuss the sparknotes pack.

thanks
btw does anyone know how long it takes for the AMSCO book to come by UPS Ground. i ordered it about 4 days ago. lol im just too anxious to start studying.

I went Princeton review, but only got a 3, so don't depend to highly on that one.

My teacher recommended REA because several high scorers from the previous year used the book. It's an awesome book (easy to read, tons of practice tests) and i got a 5. If you're not confident enough then go through the book twice or three times, and highlight all the important examples so you can kill the essays. good luck!

syzonin- i was about to get this but.....AMSCO is very hard to find and i heard its just as good if not better than REA. but....to everyone who is looking for APUSH books i would say go with AMSCO and then go to your local bookstore to study from REA.

DO NOT USE 5 STEPS TO A 5: FULL OF TYPOS AND MISLEADING FACTS.

I would expect that someone would intervene in the publishing process to proofread the book, if not the author.

i was about to get that t oo
thanks for the heads-up liist

ok so i got my AMSCO book it is pretty damn good but now i need a study plan
the people who took the test using this book, how did you study it? like read it over twice or what?
