I applied ED for engineering, 3.63 GPA, 590 R, 650 M, 730 W SAT. It was a long shot and obviously I got deferred. I love both engineering and money/investing, so my second choice major is Finance at the Pamplin school of business. is the fact that I listed engineering as my first choice major going to hurt my chances for getting into the school of business?
Not at all.
Virginia Tech admissions officers do whatever they can to help people who want to go to Tech actually get into the school. If they don’t feel you are suited for your first choice they will consider you for your second one quite fairly. I do hope you get accepted into engineering though! Good luck-
I think you look OK for Business, but a stretch for Engineering.
