are they a HUGE factor of your decision?
i dont think mine are really great.
im stressing.

Yeah. Other than interviews, essays are the only way for you to present the unique aspects of yourself. A superbly written essay can sometimes make or break whether you get accepted or not. This is especially the case if your on the bubble with your other stats. It sounds corny, but just try your best to transcribe into words what you feel in your heart. Good luck and remember no pressure.

Essays are definitely important, but universities only expect a genuine and well thought out essay that adheres to the rules of grammar. I don't think that's anything to worry about.

If you have great stats, don't stress yourself out. If you are borderline, make them count. If you can do that, you'll be fine.

Now if you are doing essays for an Ivy, Stanford, etc. make your essays he best they can be.

Be careful what advice you give guys. It is true that Michigan does not assign too much weight to the essays, but a poorly written, ill-conceived essay could negatively impact an applicant's chances. At the very least, be sure to write a decent, well-thought out essay.

maguo was the valedictorian in his class. i think he would've been set either way... haha.

but yeah, essays are important. i don't think i would've gotten into the b-school if it weren't for my essays.
