Of course it has always existed I’m saying the number of people with a below average level of intellect seems to be growing

Why do you think stupidity is increasing, though? All you have is evidence that it exists.

It’s because he’s around it. It’s a common effect. Work at a hospital and you think everyone is sick. Live in the city and you think the world is too crowded. Work as a cop and you think everyone’s a criminal.

What I’m saying is, you’re surrounded by stupidity, so you think everyone is stupid. I feel the same way. It’s just your school/area. Not necessarily increasing.

While some may be becoming dumber, we also have to look at all the people becoming smarter. People as a whole are constantly innovating and having breakthroughs each and every day. However, many more people are choosing dumb decisions like committing crime and trying to live off the dole for their whole life. I think the gap between intelligent and not-intelligent is widening and there are fewer and fewer people in the middle. America’s middle class is declining and so are the people of average intelligence.

I concur. ^ 10c

I’m saying has it always been that the less intelligent outweigh the average? I feel like over the years some of the “just average” people have moved to down to the below average people.

By definition, no more than half of the people can be below average…

People moving from average to below average would indicate that people are getting smarter, not that they’re getting dumber.

Maybe you’re just super smart?

Bell Curve
/end thread

I feel your pain. My entire high school is made up of the same kind of idiots…did I mention I hate high school?

I’m not sure for other people, but as for myself I feel like I’m getting dumber. I used to remember stuff easily and do great on memorized based tests. Now I don’t even remember my times tables.
