Are Purdue Admissions no longer rolling?

I'd like to apply for the Purdue Engineering Programme.

I always thought Purdue was rolling admissions, but this is what they have posted on their website:

"When will I receive an admission decision?

For first-time freshman students who are applying for fall 2009 enrollment, Purdue will begin releasing admissions decisions on December 5, 2008. Decisions will be available online after 5 p.m. that day, however, decisions are not guaranteed by December 5. Only students who applied online will be able to view their decision online.

Beginning on December 8, admission decisions will be released on a rolling basis - daily after decisions made.

The December 5 release date does not apply to transfer students or students applying for spring or summer enrollment. These students will receive decisions as they are made beginning in September for enrollment the following calendar year."

What does this mean? RD and THEN rolling? I emailed them twice in the last month but they haven't replied.

Also, does anyone know if SAT scores are mandatory for Purdue?

Thanks a lot
Gregory House, M.D. :P

No, it's still considered rolling. It just has a fixed starting date for notifications - some rolling decision colleges start earlier, but December 5 is still fairly early (compared to ED and RD notification dates).

As to your other question - quoting the Purdue admissions website:
"Purdue requires the SAT or ACT if a student has not completed one full year of college work upon Purdue enrollment. The writing section of the SAT or ACT is required."
