Are the Piero and Medici apartments a good choice?

Im a sophmore transfer student and usc housing has apparently filled up.
My parents dont want me having a room mate so i would be living alone but i want to be in a place where i can meet new people and make friends since i dont know anybody at USC...
Do these apartments have alot of usc students??

Medici is an ultra-expensive downtown apartment building 3 and a half miles from USC. If your goal is to meet new people there are literally dozens of better options.

Your parents don’t want you to have a roommate…???

yeah theyre afraid i might end up living with psycho paths or something…
So what other apartment buildings would be a better choice??

Go nuts.

If you want a roommate you should tell your parents that that’s stupid, because it is. But if they suggested Medici they’re probably so loaded you can live wherever you want.

Thanks! and i dont know they are pretty much set on me not having one, its not very resonable of them. I have a feeling its going to be alot harder making new friends with out a roomate though

Tell them the odds of your roommate being ‘psycho’ are way, way, way lower than the odds of you needing help from a roommate if you’re physically hurt, sick, or stranded.

As a transfer it would be a great idea for you to live super close to campus. Don’t think of paying for an apartment by yourself at gateway/tuscany though since it is a ripoff. West 27th is a bit more reasonable for a studio but there should be plenty of other decent studio1/bedrooms off campus on the north side (check places on ellendale or menlo).

If you live downtown (which I do), I’d suggest one of the places close to the expo line so you can take the subway to campus. Popular usc student places are city lights on fig and metlofts which are both next to the same expo line stop. Or medici/orsini which are both bigger complexes but you’ll have to drive from them.

It may also be worth mentioning that for my first year as a transfer I lived with two roommates I met here on collegeconfidential in the usc transfer thread who were both cool to live with.
