Are these books acceptable for my classes?

These books at amazon are cheaper than the books at the UCSD bookstore so I was wondering if these books are acceptable for my classes before I buy them!

Chem 6A:
Amazon.com: Chemical Principles: Peter W. Atkins, Loretta Jones: Books

Math 20A:
Amazon.com: Calculus, Early Transcedentals: Jon Rogawski: Books

ECE 15:
Amazon.com: The C Programming Language: Brian W. Kernighan, Dennis M. Ritchie: Books

The Chem 6A and Math 10A only has one required book each right?

That's exactly the kinda of research you need to be doing.

Chem 6A: There is a slightly newer version (only by 6 months), but otherwise that works fine.

Math 20B: Looks fine.

ECE 15: Don't have that class so I can't say for sure.

But yeah, for both chem and math those look like the cheapest place to buy them.

And yes they only have 1 book each.

tabsycoist, your post is pointless

dont post if you aren't going to help.

The Rogawski book is very confusing. Besides the link quoted earlier, in Amazon there are also (all hard cover)

Amazon.com: Calculus: Early Transcendentals: Jon Rogawski: Books
published 1/19/07 used price $87
contained a few errors which is supposedly to be corrected in the 6/22/07 version, but no errata were ever published.

Amazon.com: Calculus: Early Transcendentals: Jon Rogawski: Books
published 6/22/07 used price $98.90

Then there is the original link which is published 6/30/07, new book price is $67.65 but available from individuals and not from Amazon directly.

cOoligAn, you should watch what you say. It's ironic since you aren't helping the cause. Likewise, if you're just going to post to bash on people, might as well not post since you're not helping.

As for the OP, I read that you can use the single-variable textbook if you'd like to save some money. However, if you're going to complete the entire 20 series, its best if you get the Early Transendentals that were posted above.

look more on half.com and abebooks.com

i first searched on amazon too but i found that these two website has cheaper prices and they're in pretty good condition

take the ISBN number from the amazon sites (Since you know those are the right books) and copy & paste the numbers into half.com and abebooks.com
