Are UC's going to see our Fall semester grades for 2007?

Do we send them our fall 2007 semester grades (im @ uc merced), and are they used in the admission process?

yes sir!
Fall grade is significant for your admission!

Yes. Fall 2007 grade will have tremendous impact on your admission. So don't slack off :P

Yupp because during Jan/Fen applicants are required to update the fall grades.

haha, great I actually hoped they would look at them:)

hm, for some reason this never crossed me mind; if they accept in may, does it matter what the spring grades are?

yes Sir! it does matter.. if you do bad for your spring class your admission might be declined...

Well they notify the applcants in like April so they dont' really get to see your spring grades until you report to them like when they ask for transcripts. Like my friend who made it to Fall 2007 she got a gpa of 3.3-3.4 after Fall grades, even though there a transfer form due in Jan/Feb, she update it early so she didn't input her grades for Winter (she end up getting both C in both of her class) hten in Spring, she got only like B/C and even failed a class, she took it again in the summer again but i think she failed again and it was a math class that was require for her major to transfer, and probably dipped below a 3.0 prior to transfer....i don' think some uc is that mean when you got accepted...they won't really decline you after you get accepted??

i mean she made it to UCLA does this seem like ucla standard, failed a prereq math course twice, under 3.0 prior to transfer...compare to at the time of application 3.3-3.4

They can rescind your application.

yes, they usually tell you that you must maintain a certain GPA to officially enroll, so even your admissions letter is not too final is you mess up.

after getting your acceptance some UC's require that you maintain a 3.0 GPA for your spring semester. I know that I cut it really close for Berkeley last year. I had an overall GPA of a 3.7 but I had a hard time in stats class in the Spring and since I took very few classes and my acceptance letter stts to maintain a 3.0 for the semester so I called them. They told me that me my admissions could get rescinded if I dropped below a 3.0 for that semester. UCD told me I could make up the class in the summer but UCB was very strict about that. I barely scathed by so be careful.

no doubt they will see it but i wonder how far it can fall
3.0 is the standard for the lowest u can go
but does it apply to all schools and majors
some majors are like haas with 3.92 average GPA Xfer...
makes me really wonder if the rule still stands for THAT kinda school as well =/

if they also use the 3.0 gpa standard
i'm in heaven~

also keep in mind that my acceptance letter stated that the GPA had to stay at a 3.0+ for the rest of the classes (Spring)... not the overall GPA. My overall GPA was still above a 3.5...the reason I was so worried was that semester I had only taken 2 classes so if I had done poorly in that one stats class then the semester GPA would have dropped below the min. Thank goodness I took an easy class along w/ the stats class to pad my GPA because I knew I was going to have a hard time in stats. What I should have done was to take stats as a p/np class, then I wouldn't have anything to worry about.
