Hello I will be applying to transfer from a california community college to a couple of UC schools in November. My gpa is currently a 3.43 and it will certainly rise to a 3.5 by the end of the fall semester. I was just wondering since the grades for the fall are not ready during the application process. Do the Uc’s get to see the progress made during the last semester at all before they make thier final decisions. I really want to go to UCLA and if they don’t see that my grades have gone up I might not have a good chance to get in.please answer and thanks.

Yeah, you update your application with your fall grades.

Do UC's really look at your fall GPA? I am worried because i have one C on my transcript that spoils my transcript. That was a course taken during high school. I have gotten As in my other classes, so my GPA is like 3.23 right now. By the end of fall '05, my GPA will go up to a 3.69 since im taking 19 units. It would really be beneficial if they counted fall grades.

I can't see why they'd make you send them if they didn't look at them.

i found out like 5 weeks after you submit your application they ask for an update of your fall courses

Sophia, if this is really important...call the school don't ask strangers on the web...there are admissions people who speciallize in transfer students and they can probably tell you more than we can...you may also try your community college to see what the profiles of students who have been successful looked like.

Someone might advise you to include the situation regarding your C. The admissions people might discount it because it occurred during high school...or they might tell you to take another course like it to show that you can do the work....ask them.
