<p>I was thinking of buying a mini laptop to take notes in, because I have problems with actual writing. But I heard that some classes don't allow them?</p>
<p>That is an extremely good question, but I'm sorry that I cannot answer it.</p>
<p>It usually depends on each teacher. My daughter always asks each teacher at the beginning of a semester.</p>

<p>most professors don't have a problem. the ones i've found that usually have a problem are those professor in the arts. in my case it was one english poetry professor and currently a theater professor. in former, the teacher just didn't want students wandering off online. in the latter, it's a theater class, it's all discussion based and note taking isn't necessary.</p>
<p>i always try to use my laptop when it makes sense to do so. i had one professor last year for a Roman History class. besides the fact that the class was awesome, he gave a lot of notes and wasn't a fast talker. i was able to capture almost word for word everything he said in class. it helped a lot when it came to study for midterms and finals. then you have other professors like i had in one religion class who talk so fast that you're better off not even writing anything down. hopefully you don't have those kind of professors in your college career.</p>

<p>check into livescribe Pulse digital pen. I got one for my D for christmas and she takes her notes with it and then uploads to her computer. You record the data in special notebooks. She says she really likes it alot. You can even record lectures and upload them but ask your professors first before recording.</p>
