<p>Yes.
She's not a naturally smart person, and gets good grades by staying up til 2 every night and grade-grubbing.
But within my own grade ('10) I'd say most of the people I associate are pretty much ranked 1-10...There's not much chance to interact with non-AP people, since all the AP/honors students pretty much take the same classes...</p>
<p>I don't know who's valedictorian at my school for sure, but I'm not friends with any of the contenders. Acquaintances, sure, but not friends.</p>
<p>Yep, definitely friends. #1 and #2. Our school removed the valedictorian title, so there's not as much competitiveness in class rank. I take a lot of high level science classes because its interesting, and she takes more honors level humanities and language classes. It doesnt really matter that much at our competitive school, as the difficulty of the schedule counts more, and frankly, trying to secure that #1 spot is not really worth it.</p>
<p>I'm the val at my school, and like many of you guys have mentioned, a somewhat of a clique has formed among the top 10, mainly because we take a lot of the same classes that others in my class aren't willing to try. I'm currently best friends with the sal (even though there is a little bit of a rivalry) and pretty good friends with #3-10.</p>
<p>I'm friends with this year's valedictorian, not sure who the sal is. </p>
<p>But for my class ('10) I am the val... so yes, I suppose I would say I'm friends with myself >_> But my best friend is the sal, so there isn't really that much of a rivalry. As far as the rest of the top ten goes, I'm really not close with any of them, more acquaintances than anything. But I have a few close friends in the rest of the top twenty.</p>

<p>Yeah, we're great friends... and not the backstabbing, conniving type either.</p>
<p>We both help each other out with assignments and have regular talks about everything and anything. </p>
<p>She may not be my BFFFFFFFF, but she's surely high on my list.</p>
