to everyone that has been accepted, are you planning to attend umich? if so what schools did you turn down? are you turning down umich for something else? stats too. lol

oh..i'm turning down dartmouth, cornell, washu, johns hopkins, and some lesser schools for umich. $$$ is the reason!!!

It is ok KB, Michigan is at least as good as the schools you are turning down. You'll be happy with your decision.

turning down Michigan honors, Cornell for UVa. non-echol

reason: michigan's cold climate, afraid i may not be able to get in UMICHIgan's Ross school of business (competitive), and overall selectivity? and cost, which is not a big problem

stats? 620 V, 800 M, 730 SAT 2 Chem, 800 SAT 2 Chinese, 790 IIC,
GPA: 4.2 out of 4.0 5+ leaderships, many ECs.... been to U.S. for 2.5 years...........

I'm turning down UMich Honors, Michigan State University (free for me), Cornell, Vanderbilt + merit $, and UVa for Dartmouth. I wanted a small environment and I wanted to go out East (I currently live in MI and am not particularly fond of the state). Also, I am not a fan of Ann Arbor, although most people I know love the city. I can't even make a list of everything I like about Dartmouth because I loooove so much about the school!

Anyway, best of luck to everyone, wherever you're going. UMich is a great school and everyone that I know who goes there has a great experience.

Stats?
-800V, 690 M, 800 Wr, 780 Miic, 740 UsHist; 5's on AP US Hist and AP Eng Lang
-varsity athlete, captain of XC/track teams, editor on school paper and literary magazine, etc. etc. etc

gracilisae...i'm GREEN w/envy. I would love nothing more than to be able to turn down Umich honors for Dartmouth.

DOES ANYONE HAVE 13K ON THEM THAT I COULD BORROW!!!???

Just kidding...go green...er blue,

i think U Mich is as good as Dartmouth.

Michigan has a HUGE international reputation, while Dartmouth is little known outside of the states. even some Americans dont know Dartmouth..........

Turning down Johns Hopkins, UMD CP, and PSU Smeal for U Michigan.

In some ways Thom, Michigan is not as good as Dartmouth. In other ways, Michigan is better. Overall, I agree that they are equal...but in totally opposite ways. I just hope KB does not hate his experience at Michigan. He seems to think Michigan was a lowly second choice. There aren't many such students at Michigan, but those students never seem satisfied at the University.

LMAO....yes alexandre I'm despretly hoping I won't hate Michigan either. Actually..It'll prolly be really cool..I'm just bummed that i had to give up a school that I'd MUCH rather be going to. Oh well.

GO BLUE...I suppose.

u can read my mind :) i always considered both Michigan and UVa to be lowly second choice. i was not happy that top ivies rejected me, and initially didnt want to give up Cornell, an ivy for UVA, a state school, but i did finally. dont know why, i guess i dont care about prestige anymore. Uva will provide me w/ more opportunity if i major in business, i guess i won't regret by the time i graduate from UVA.(i would find a better job with a McIntire degree than a Cornell "accreditted" business degree) but, i still haven't got to the point where i'm totally proud of UVa. sometimes i picture what my future would be had Wharton accepted me. Is kb facing the same problems?

giving up nyu and ucsd......will be attending michigan

only hopkins has the potential to take down umich if i get unwaitlisted sometime soon

Deathrebornrevolution, follow in IOlllOI's footsteps. Pick Michigan over Johns Hopkins. Johns Hopkins is certainly as good academically, but their quality of life is very mediocre compared to Michigan's.

Im turning down UMich for UVa :)

r u a virginian Micky?

No, I'm from New York

Lol! Dont get me wrong here but this is funny...as I was scrolling down this thread I saw Thom Yorke's reply "r u a virginian Micky?"...and thought it said "r u a virgin Micky?" lol...
