I am currently a sophomore in high school that plans to get my bachelors in business management once I enter college. I have posted related posts and have gotten 0 answers so I hope for someone to reply to my current situation.
Right now, I am currently a high school sophomore in California. This first semester of my sophomore year has been absolutely horrible. I will be getting 1 A a few C’s and 1 D. I plan to do so much better in the future while getting the help I need. By the end of my junior year, I plan to have above a 3.2 UW GPA.
I have a few questions regarding to ASU:
How do I get into ASU?
Is the W.P. Carey school of business competitive?
Do I not have a chance because of my one bad semester?
What does ASU look for in their applicants?
It is too early to start targeting specific colleges. For now I would work hard and do as well as you can in the most rigorous courseload you can manage. See how things play out in terms of your GPA as well as your standardized tests over the next year/year and a half and take it from there. In the meantime find activities you enjoy, spend time with your friends and family and make the most of your HS years.
It is good to think ahead, but choosing specific colleges should not be your focus right now. I’d recommend that you get off of CC until this time next year at the earliest.
For now I would suggest that you focus on determining the factors that may be enabling you to get a D instead of a B or a C instead of an A; these could range from lack of motivation or even lack of time. In doing so, you will improve your grades immensely all the while building fundamental work ethics to then put forth into college. You’ll get your 3.2 GPA in no time (or even higher). You’re only a sophomore and so taking these preliminary steps willhelp you greatly in the future. As for ASU admissions, my junior year grades dwindled down a bit too and I still got in pretty easily, so don’t worry about it.
