Basically I'd like to know what people think of one or both communities based on any factor(s) they choose.

Any takers?

Thanks.

I honestly think CV is a better choice…

Its your own ap’t, sharing a room, but you have a kitchen to share with just 3 other people…while AV you share a kitchen with what 16-32 other people? You share a bathroom with your floor?
CV you share a bathroom with just your roommate. AND its basically on campus, no need for shuttle I believe…

It would depend on the type of person you are.

While CV is literally next to campus, there are some drawbacks. You share a bathroom with three other roommates (which means one shower/toilet amongst four people). However, you have a living room and kitchen that is also shared with fewer people as well.

Arroyo Vista is nicer that there are study rooms downstairs, and a larger common area to invite friends over to chill. But the kitchen, while larger, is shared with roughly 40 or so people, which might be troublesome. However, it is steps away from the ARC which is nice for working out and much closer to Albertsons as well.

I would definitely live in CV if you want to cook often (less chance of food theft) otherwise AV would allow for better opportunities to socialize and make more friends.

CV is the best place to live on campus. AV is maybe the worst.

AV- relatively far away from campus, large communal bathrooms, more dorm-like (which means less privacy. My friends who have lived in AV had constant issues with other people in their hall making lots of noise at like 4am), you basically have no choice regarding who lives around you or what room you get, no personal kitchen. Oh, did I mention that it is more expensive than CV?

CV- 1) Very close to campus. I’ve literally woken up 5 minutes before a class started and still made it on time. 2) The cheapest on campus housing available. 3) An amazing community center. You can buy tons of snacks and drinks there for really cheap (like 45 cents for a soda), a community gym, nice pool tables, a TV room, study rooms, etc.
4) You get to pick precisely which apartment you’ll have and who you’ll be living with. Because apartments are a little more spread out than dorm rooms, you’ll never have noise problems. 5) Having your own kitchen, bathroom and living room is freaking awesome.

if you dont have a car or dont plan on bringing it live in CV, your walk to trader joes and albertson are conviently closer, in my opinion.

Thanks for your opinions everyone.

Any chance there are people out there who think AV is the better option? Would like to hear the other side, too.

If you workout, then AV is much more closer to the ARC then CV (walk, bike or take shuttle). Then again, if you bring a car, then thats not a problem. AV is nicer looking than CV (looks ghetto at night).
