Art for nonmajors

Can anyone suggest a school with a good art program that is readily accessible to nonmajors? My daughter is interested in art but dislikes the intensity that seems to accompany many fine art programs. She is interested in ceramics, crafts (glass, metals), and manga/anime, among other areas.

Most liberal arts colleges have something that covers this. Have you started looking at how much you can afford for a school?

We can probably stretch our budget to accomodate a private school. It seems like the big public universities (e.g. Wisconsin) have the type of art department that would suit my daughter, but I think she would get lost in such a large school.

If your daughter would be happy with a local regional U or large state U in your state that would be less expensive. A large state U out of state is not much less expensive than a LAC. Any chance your DD will be a national merit finalist?

We will keep our fingers crossed!
