Articulation Agreements

What is the general opinion on getting one's BSN through an articulation agreement (doing 3-4 years at a liberal arts college and then 1-2 years at a top nursing school)? For example, Johns Hopkins and NYU both have articulation agreements with several small colleges. Has anyone here done this, thinking about it, pursuing it? Pros, cons? Any info would be appreciated.

I’d suggest looking for a situation where you can finish in 4 years. For example, in Philadelphia, many students attend 2 years at a college without a nursing program and then transfer for the last 2 years at Thomas Jefferson University.

Ideally, you would find 2 colleges that are near each other, so you don’t have to leave friends behind.

Also, read the fine print about what is needed to qualify for the transfer. Some programs may guarantee acceptance if you keep an average over a certain level in prerequisite classes, while others may simply say that the courses are coordinated but you still have to apply competitively for the transfer.
