Artistic acceptances MT/Acting class of 2026

We will be at Rider on the 14th and Hartt on the 15th. Have you emailed? They are setting up a visit for him at both schools. Excited to see the schools, and yes a lot of driving and flying for us as well!

That is great to know! My son is totally torn between culinary and musical theatre. Johnson and Wales is his number one choice for culinary. We visited CIA and Johnson and Wales last summer and he really liked the vibe at JW. Their culinary campus is beautiful and the huge culinary building was impressive! I am glad that your son is having a great experience there!

Anyone else feeling like today might be a good day to hear from CalArts?? Itā€™s just too damn quiet here on the East Coastā€¦ cā€™mon Cali! Weā€™re waiting on pins & needles!

My daughter is a freshman in the UCLA TFT program for acting. There are about 60 TFT students in the TFT class of '25 - 20 are acting, 8 are MT (the others are integrated studies or design/theater tech.) If I look at the instagram pages for the various classes of TFT students, it looks like some years there are more MT students than others!? If you have any other questions about the program, feel free to DM me!

Iā€™m sorry. This is so hard. She did get a phone call yesterday. Portals will be updated today. I am happy for her- she has a few really great options. However, going through this process with her and being on this Forum and the FB page, it really hits home when other kids get a ā€œno.ā€ I hope your D is landing somewhere she feels really terrific about.

Thanks so much. Are you taking your son up to Syracuse for one of the accepted student days? We are trying to plan all of these visits.

So happy for you guys on BU! Do you think if no call itā€™s a no? BU has always been at the top of my sons listā€¦.
We couldnā€™t go to Syracuse on any of the accepted student days so will be travelling up for a tour mid week. He also emailed the theater program and requested to sit in on a class. The administration was very nice and set this up for him including theater lab!
Good luck on your decision!! You have such great choices!

Let me know if youā€™d like the contact person at Syracuse to set up a class visit! Might be a nice way to get a real feel for the school.

Thank you! I donā€™t know how the calls work. I wasnā€™t home when she got it and it did not come from a Boston number. The caller did say portal update today. My D missed a call from one of her top choices in mid-February- she did not pick up and later that day the director sent an email. She is waiting on one more school. Would love the contact person- she did get an email from Holly Thuma and was planning to reach out to her. Did you contact a different person?

He wrote to the admissions office of the school of visual and performing arts and heard back from Colleen from recruitment. If your son visits on a Wednesday, the theater lab is at 4:00.
