Also, when we check in, we get dropped off in the lost F1 and F2 and THEN go off to the encinitas building to check in?

Also how about the major orientation, do we first go with groups and then head off to specific major groups?

CalPolyEE: I looked around but I couldn’t find the chart for tuition. Just pay the charges whenever they’re posted on BroncoDirect. It’s usually about a month before the quarter begins.

CPUser: All class registration is done online on BroncoDirect from any computer. I’ve talked about it before so search through my previous posts.

Lovevnc: Sorry but visitor parking is only 30 min. Call transportation services and ask them about moving in. I don’t think they give tickets on move in day if you don’t have a permit. For packages: [Mail and Package Information](http://dsa.csupomona.edu/uhs/mail_package_info.asp) They should always put your address. The school will take care of the rest. There are laundry machines on the first floor of the dorms. You will be given a special card that you can put money on to use it. It also serves as your gym card. You need to bring an ethernet cable ([Amazon.com: ethernet cable](http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=ethernet+cable&x=0&y=0)) to use the internet. There is one connection port per side of the room.

CPUser: (assuming you’re asking about orientation) Bring any toiletry items you’ll need for an overnight stay. The bathrooms have four showers each. You’ll spend most of your time with your orientation group and then a little time with your specific major group.

@ CPUser: Like what Frenchie17 said, toiletry won’t be provided for the orientation. There are 3 showers and 1 shower for the handicap. They are curtained not stalls, if that’s what you’re wondering like me before lol. You can shower anytime after your orientation activities ended, even early in the morning if you want. Just go straight to Encinitas Hall with your ride, no need to walk so far from the parking lot. Check in in front of Encinitas’ lawn. You stay with your group and orientation leader most of the time and only go to your major group on the last day when you pick classes.

Frenchie17, the links are so informative, thanks. Also, can you tell me more about meals at the common? Is there a specific time I have to go in for meals? because I have class during lunch time 12 - 1 PM. Will it be open during weekends? o.O I’m gonna starve!

The class schedule that appear on the front page of Student Center when I go on is finalized right? I don’t need to wait for the professor’s approval or anything?

Um… since you dormed your first year, did you change your family doctor and dentist to doctors in Pomona?

Meals at the commons work on a weekly basis. Based on which meal plan you choose you get 10, 14, or 19 meals a week. You swipe in with your Bronco card and it’s all you can eat from there. The commons is open pretty regularly during the week. On weekends the schedule is a little tighter. You don’t have to worry about lunch but make sure you go before they close for dinner. 45 min before they close they start to put all the good stuff away. For more info on Los Olivos Commons: [Dining Services](http://foundation.csupomona.edu/dining/lo/) The hours link has the schedule for the Summer so it’s not very helpful right now =( There is also something called “cashing out.” If you want you can exchange your meal for $6 worth of food at the convenience store under the cafeteria. This is great when you’re on the run or when you know you won’t use all of your swipes in a week.

I didn’t change any of my doctors or dentists or anything. I just made my appointments when I was home. Don’t forget that the school also has a free health center with doctors if you need anything.

I have a question about financial aid. I filed my FAFSA before the deadline and I am supposed to be eligible for Cal Grant but in my CPP financial aid section, it only shows loans. Should I go talk to the financial aid office or is there a certain time they will update it?

Can’t help you with financial aid. Call the school

hi, for the ethernet cable, is it usually the ones we commonly have at home? like when we plug it from our modem to our computer? that wire?
or is there something more to it?
if it is not too much to ask for, is it ok to link me a google image for me to know what to buy? thanks!

It’s your standard internet connector. The thing going from your computer to your modem is the ethernet cable. Just buy one on amazon or in a store. [ethernet cable - Google Search](http://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&hl=en&source=hp&biw=1366&bih=674&q=ethernet+cable&gbv=2&oq=ethernet+&aq=0&aqi=g10&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=1627l3061l0l4101l9l7l0l1l1l0l202l848l2.2.2l6l0)

thanks frenchie!
i don’t know if you’ve ever lived in the triple occupancy residence hall but if you did or know the structure of it…
-there is only 2 wardrobes? for 3 ppl? i guess that really depends on who doesn’t mind having their clothes hanged or not huh?
-i know at home, we have our own bathrooms to hang our wet towels or face towels. but for the dorms, where do we hang our wet towels? i was wondering if anyone tried sticking their own hooks in the bathroom walls lol.
when i was having my orientation last month, i brought my own towels, because i figure that the one they provide would be really bad quality. so i brought my own, i didn’t have any place to hang it to let it dry. it’d be too gross if i just fold it back up and put it in my bag!

Frenchie17
For quarter breaks, will the dorm be close and will they kick students out? or can we stay at the dorm for the breaks? All the majors holidays like uh Christmas which probably will be a long break.

robtheprincess
There are two usual wardrobes by the door and a third one next to the window for triple. To me, the third one is inconvenient to reach to lol.
There are metal poles on the wardrobe for you to spread your towels. Don’t know about the third wardrobe.

Lovevnc: Your dorm room is yours from the day you move in to the day Summer break begins. You won’t be kicked out in between unless you break the law.

Robtheprincess: Read lovevnc’s post above. And no don’t put a hook in the bathrooms XD They have some in between the showers.

Hey, I just got back from orientation and a question just came up that I forgot to ask the advisers. Will the school open up more classes after each orientation? It doesn’t seem fair if people who had earlier orientation were able to take all the classes first :(

Last year classes were added about a month before school. However the CSU schools didn’t lose 650 million dollars going into last year so I’m not sure that they will add classes. And yes signing up for classes the first time sucks. You are not only behind the other orientation groups but also behind every other student who has already attended the university. If you can’t get a class just show up the first day and ask to be added. With some luck and persistence you should be fine.

When will they post up the amount due for Fall 2011? It’s already Aug. 11 when it will be due on Sept. 2 Will this amount be tuition only? or both tuition and housing?

Is it normal to have “completed” on my application instead of “admitted” by this time? o.o I’m scared that they’re gonna kick me out after paying my fees…

~~~
So frustrating >.< I called them to ask that why is the fee due on sept 2 when financial aid disbursement is on sept 12… They hung up on me T.T … how am I supposed to pay …
I think I’ve called this whole school during this summer break T.T
Sorry I don’t receive financial aid so I don’t know how any of it works. I just pay the amount posted on BroncoDirect whenever it’s due… I would say to call the school but it looks like you’ve already done that. Unfortunately, our staff in overworked and underpayed so it’s hard getting anything useful out of them =( I think my app said completed just before school started last year as well
How long does the ethernet cable need to be? I have one at home but not sure it’ll work.
Is there machines that sell detergents in the laundry room? lol I’m thinking of bringing them with me o.o
For the ethernet cable it depends what you want to do. The port is located in the corner of the room by your desk / closet. If you are just going to use it for your laptop when it’s at your desk you don’t need more than 5 feet. I had an Xbox on the other side of the room so I bought a 30 foot cable that I could wrap behind my bed and up to the dresser hassle free.
You need to bring your own detergent. I just bought some of those 3-in-1 sheets that do detergent, softener, and dryer sheet and I was set
I’m planning to transfer as a chemical engineer next year.
How is the program compared to those of UCLA, UCR and UCSB?
Is it easy to get internships/research positions?
Are there only two ethernet ports per room? How would I go about connecting a desktop, 2 laptops, and an xbox? Would I need to bring a router?
