As I understand, it is guys in one hall and girls in another.

Are there affordable places to live off campus? I’m planning to live alone and want to be walking/biking or bus distance to campus.

Is it true that almost none of the students at UCSB want a relationship? And that most people are only interested in hooking up, rather than a relationship?

If I’m a student coming over from England, what would the best halls be for me does anyone know? I spent a year in the halls here in manchester but I’ve heard its a pretty different environment over there, I’d be after the most sociable noisy ones because that’s what I’m used to here! Also, what sort of age are people in freshman year? is it about 19 like here? Any advice would be well appreciated thanks!

Duuuuuude! I live and study at a boarding school in Blackpool. Add me on FB, I’ll fill you up on everything.

@YuhikoJay, do you actually believe that crap?

Find three people who goes to UCSB, and I’m sure none of them have an STD.

It’s just a sick rumor people have been spreading around because of the school’s reputation.

What’s the honors chem course like?

This area is kind of expensive, the cheapest places you can find rooming with others is about $300 (if you look hard), all this assuming you don’t care too much about being on the more luxurious apartments or houses by the beach. Single, I doubt you’ll find anything cheap.

Yes people are more into hook-ups, it is not a UCSB thing, it’s a we are on that stage/ college life thing.

@flozza17 You’ll be fine the average freshman is 18 years old, some 19 some 17, plus age doesn’t really matter. Floors, just stay away from Manzanita Village and the scholars floor. Those are probably the more quiet places. Other than that, it is all random luck.

Does anyone know of any pet friendly apartments??

None really, people just hide their pets

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the UCSB university apartments? I out Santa Ynez as my first choice! I wonder if my chances of getting my first choice is good.

will they care if we have a tv that’s a little bigger over the limit size?

im going with SY too! theres a limit on tv size? what is it? are there tvs allowed in the rooms? or just living room?

and heres a question for anyone in SY…

is there TOO much of a disconnect from the IV party scene?
i want my distance for studying but i dont want to be a loner either so whats the deal?

@nicklittle: I heard Santa Ynez is pretty quiet and isolated from the party scene. But i did hear westgate and the other university apartment has a lot of parties doing on.

Obviously the campus is on the beach, which is gorgeous, but I’m wondering-what’s the outdoors culture like?

Surfing, sailing, kayaking, etc are all obvious ones, which I love, but do many people hike in the mountains behind campus and things like that? I know there’s an excursion club-how active is it?

I love UCSB so much but I’m also into outdoor activities so it would make the school so much better if there are a lot

i heard there is a bus that goes from the ucsb library to ucla library. Is that still around?
