I’ve been doing some research and really like the San Nicolas dorms but I heard that FSSP kids stay there the whole year so I’m wondering if that means it’s unlikely for me to be placed in them if i don’t do FSSP?
Also, are Manzanita dorms really antisocial? I am a quiet person by nature and am easily distracted. A lot of noise makes my anxiety flare up big time, but I don’t wanna be too isolated either. Any advice?
I recommend shorties, and stay far away from Manzi. Look at my post history, I described them all!
I agree. Shorties are the better ones. Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa.
in san nic, there are plenty of non fssp kids so you have a pretty good chance of getting in there.
manzi is usually prioritize for upperclassmen, so the chances you’ll get placed there is pretty small.
I hightly recommend one of the shorties. No waiting for elevators, close to the beach, santa cruz has their own theater, and they’re close to everything
Just be careful not to take opinions as facts- things change every year and with more applicants this year than the previous years, the way it was might not be the way it will be. Some things I see here in this thread contradict what we were told by the Housing Manager at the Chancellor’s reception- mostly that every Freshman is likely to be placed 3 to a room regardless of building. Pick your housing based on you LLC and you will be happy because you will be with like minded people.
