Ask Exonians

Hi everyone,

Today a group of tour guides here at Exeter met to discuss forums through which prospective students can ask questions of current Exonians, and we thought that a Q&A thread here would be a good place to start. Any current Exonian should feel free to answer questions.

Keep in mind when reading this thread that every student has a unique experience here-- I certainly can’t speak for everyone, nor can others speak completely accurately for me. Because of this, I think it would be great to get more than one perspective for each question.

Let me start by introducing myself:

I am a returning lower from Mass and I live in a dorm. I’m very involved with The Exonian in addition to other publications, I give several tours every week, and I commute home on the weekends to work at my parents’ horse training facility. I’m very passionate about my riding and I ride competitively throughout the summer. This fall I picked up piano for the first time. I’ve played on campus sports teams and taken club sports classes, I’ve tried out a wide variety of extracurriculars, and my favorite subjects are English, Spanish, History, and Physics.

I’ll do my best to answer questions that show up here, and I encourage others to as well.

I have a few questions to get the ball rolling!

  • Can you tell us more about what it's like to write for the Exonian?
  • What's it like taking Physics as a Lower?
  • How much do you know about dance at Exeter? Is it a huge commitment?
  • What do you think are the most important things going on in Student Life right now?
  • Does being around your friends encourage you to stay organized?
  • Can you tell us about your dorm?

Thanks for being open to questions!
