asking for recommendation

<p>i'm asking a teacher who doesn't know me well for recommendation because I need a rec from a history/english subject areas and this teacher i was going to ask from last year left.</p>

<p>when asking him, it would be kind of awkward for me.
Do i just ask him, "Can you please write me a recommendation. I don't have no one else to write me one." ?????</p>

<p>Or do I just ask him without mentioning the "no one else" part?</p>

<p>uh, don't mention the "no one else" part. that would make the teacher very a) uncomfortable and b) unwilling to write the rec</p>

<p>If you know the address/phone number of the teacher from last year, you could still get him to write the rec...</p>
